means never having to worry about being ripped off - just keep your piece out of sight unless you need it, no need to scare the legit providers.  Glock 19 is my recomendation.

well, visiting your fair city and backpage has always been good to me.  tonight it was not.  i found an add for an outcall therapeutic massage.  i actually like a good massage so i thougth i would try it and hope for a happy ending based on the pictures of a hottie with suggestive clothing.  if all i got was a good massge, i would be happy and if i recived more, all the better.  i couldnt find many FBSM in DC that were available so i thougth i would try one.  if all goes well, i get a happy ending and if not, at least i have a good massage.  i cannot post a review as she did not list a name and no service was performed.
The add was under backpage theurapeutic massage.  The girl comes to my hotel room and quickly takes the money.  she asks for my name for "security".  i refuse and ask her to leave.  she persist and suggest that it is for security only.  i relent and show her my card.  she calls her "agency" and read my information to them.  once this has passed she asks me what i want to do.  i ask for a massge and she tells me that is illegal.  i asked how she can advertise under therapeutic massage and not provide the massage.  she states she will not perform massage and ask to see the add.  i tell her to leave and she ask for her cancelation refund.  she states she has recorded our conversation and she will send it to my house.  if i dont pay the cancelation refund.  of course i am married and in a profession that would not think highly of me asking girls with suggestive picturs to my room at night for a massage.  i ask how much and the next thing i know there is a knox on the door.  her friend pushes throught the door and the two of them are now asking for cancelation fees.  i threaten to call secruity and they state go ahead, well just send your contact information to your work and home address.

bottom line, after much arguing back and forth, they leave with $800 and i have been royally ripped off.  i have been doing this for some time and this is the scarist situation i have every been in.  i should have never given them my business card.  once i went down the path, it only got worse.  i should have asked her to leave when i could tell things were not going well.

what have i learned.  always voice verify.  never text or email only.
if something doesnt seem right, go with your gut and stop early.
i would not want anything like this to happen to anyone else.  as i said, i have been at this for some time and this was a first.  i only hope that i have seen the last of these two.  of course you keep telling yourself that they will blackmail me, but that would involve phone and/or mail which would be a federal offense.  im sure they are at least smart enought to take the money and run.  im sure they're having a good laugh on my beer and fun money.

Interesting story. There sounds like there is a lot of coulda, woulda, shoulda... I have a lot to say but I think I'll leave it to the boys. ;)

Ouch I'm sorry to hear it man. I don't know what the situation is in other cities, but in the DC area it's looking more and more like Backpage and Eros are to be avoided at all costs. You did a few things I wouldn't have, but there's no point in rehashing a situation that's over and done. So far everyone who reports these incidents seems like they just take the money and go, you won't hear from them again.

A phone number, link to ad or something would help save others and get these clowns out of here.

Sorry you got burned.

It may seem gratuitous, but perhaps focus on the fact that you made off with your heath intact.  Sounds like this could have gone a different direction.

I can imagine how uncomfortable that must have been. Sorry you got screwed.

You should provide a link to the ad so others can stay away.

I have heard stories of females doing that in the DMV before. She committed a felony by what she was doing. In DC, it is called blackmail. It isn't a federal offense. They will keep doing it unless somebody calls them out on it.

Probably worried about retribution if he posts the info.  I would be too.

...When this happened to me years ago there was only the take your money and say we can only talk.  I asked her to leave and that was it.  WOW, now they are getting more outta guys other than was initially taken?!?!?!?  WTF!!

In the immortal words of Marcellus Wallace, of Pulp Fiction fame:

"Im gonna call a few "I'm a call a couple hard pipe hitten N______ to go to work on the homes here (this is where we insert "Hos") ..... with a pair of pliers and a blowthorch.  I'm a get Medieval on your ass!"

I only wish!!!

Not endorsing violence or anything but man I would be tremendously upset if that happened.

When you TOFTT, you always have to be cautions of the conditions and intentions of these providers. Without reviews, you will never know their services and personality. That being said, when you TOFTT, the first sign of something going sour, then get the fuck out. Do not show your ID to a provider that your TOFTT on. They have you hooked after they have your information.

Here in DC, they have professional agencies that ripoff clients. We have threads about them at least once a week. You have to make smart decisions. I understand that one cannot always make wise decisions, but, there are ways to minimize your risk.

You stated that you've been doing hobbying for a while, and I had better expectations from you. I too am not immune since I do TOFTT regularly, however, there are criterias I always double check to minimize my risk. You have to be smart, money is not easy to come by. Be careful of how you spend your money. It might be a few hundred dollars here and there, but, that is still money. Its better to properly invest that money than to waste that money.

When you visit the DC area again, create a thread, and ask for 411. I am usually here or someone else can assist you. Be safe.

Don't motivate or give the OP ideas about threats. It is against TER policies to threaten someone. Not right though. Did you mean, get her beat up or something? That's still not right. Just let it go, reflect, and move on. As long as the OP realizes his mistake and not make the same one again.

If I was in a hotel room with a woman who was obviously setting me up to be scammed, she's not getting near the door until Im ready for it to open (see above post regarding CCW permit)

? do some of you guys do this? i know chp's are available for citizens but wouldn't having a firearm kinda had fuel to the possible fire? possible more dangers than benefits? what of your piece when you strip and take a shower? you don't think the provider can be rummage through your shit and then she finds your strap? what then? she flips out and tells you to leave or she gets scared shitless? i dunno.  i've actually been wondring this too.  if you had a firearm with you to use in self defense would this be one of those reasons?

my 2 cents: firearms are good for self defense but would it be wise to carry one along knowing you are about to do something uh less than eagle?

That's terrible!   I am not going to give the usual advice of "see girls with reviews, websites" etc. but at the least, ask on the board!

I use Eros, I avoid free ads like the plague (you get what you pay for) and I'm real girl, hahaha!

Using a gun while committing another crime comes with a hefty penalty and anyone who grew up with and understands gun ownership knows, you NEVER brandish it unless you are aiming to kill.
Yes, I'm a southern girl :)
