Isn't the obvious solution not to patronize any of the websites that are doing this? It's credible that reports accusing some website owners of doing this, but I have no info. Providers who are being used in this way have to put an end to end to being exploited, and potential customers should walk away from websites that ask for peeking donations. Is that difficult?
This is frustrating! It's like they're trying to drive our clients away. I'm thinking that I'll be changing sites soon, since I certainly don't want my clients made to jump through any more hoops! (Screening is quite enough.) If anyone runs into anything like that, please email the lady in question about it! Sometimes we don't know our sites are doing this until you tell us.
It is very frustrating, and it doesn't matter which 'security level' you pick, they've made it very difficult to avoid the impression that fees to the client are required or encouraged. I've set my security level on the site to None so my gallery is viewable. Now when my contact form is submitted the client is taken to a page prompting an application to get verified for $47 and implies I'll be more likely to respond to Pure VIP Verified people. A completely ridiculous statement as I would lend zero credence to this supposed verification. And I'm a paying 'premium' customer, not a free ad-supported customer. Very upsetting.
Now I'm forced to spend more money to get a new site or simply take it down altogether as I don't want potential clients to get the impression I'm trying to squeeze money out of them just to view pictures or submit a contact form.
I can't imagine we're the only ones looking at dropping this host and I just hope they get the message and back these changes out
It's the website itself doing it not the provider. It's easily fixable as long as the provider is aware of it. When you report a website as bad that doesn't take it off the TER site or anything does it? I hope not because that would suck for the provider. If anyone comes across this just contact the lady and let her know. Someone let me know and I easily fixed it.
