SHIT! LE call... advice?

I just got a call which I ran to pick up before checking the number...

He asked immediately if I was still working for Estelle Crawford. I asked who it was, and he said "Brian."

Mistaking him for someone I'd been emailing with named Brian, I told him I was in BWI. He hung up.

Checking back on my emails, I can see that Brian already knew I was in BWI. Also, when I tried to call the number back, it was unknown...

How do I handle this situation? Move locations?

Yes. Switch Locations. Of course, it could have been a potential client scoping out providers accessable to his home base, but better safe than sorry.

did you tell him you worked for EC? if not, no evidence, if yes, you could just be a recepcilist.

I guess you my just need to change your phone, use a prepaid cell phone (e.g. a go phone from best buy), which do not require your ID .

Hmmm, that's odd.  Maybe 'Brian' blocked his number when calling ya, which would explain why you couldn't call him back.

As for moving, I'm not sure.  'BWI' isn't a specific location for them to come knockin' on your doors. For example, many providers on Eros list 'BWI'.

If LE is on to you they are on to you. Just screen like hell, mind your P's and Q's, and don't do or say anythig that is illegal.

Thanks... the responses I've been getting from thoughtful TER members have been rather reassuring.

It was most likely an inexperienced hobbyist who just hung up in a hurry, when he realized your location was not desirable for him.

I wouldn't freak out about it.  It sounds like someone who is a little over-concerned about hiding his own information who was rude enough to not actually have much of a conversation with you.  I know that when I've emailed ladies before, and found out that their location was not feasible for me, that put an end to the prospect of meeting them, and while I try to be more polite about ending conversations, there's also no point in wasting my time or hers.  It's not like "BWI" is specific enough to locate you, either -- there must be at least a dozen hotels out there.

My only advice to you would be to always take a breath before answering the phone so you can collect yourself.  (Yes, I know that's harder to do than it sounds.)  Don't ever assume that you already know who you're talking with, and always keep discretion in mind.
