...It was not uncommon for an ancient Roman noble father to take his son to an excellent courtesan, for the purpose of having him initiated into one of the realms of manhood.  While this may seem crude to some, it is an idea with some merit.

Who can not say what a little early training might have done for each one of us back in the day?  Perhaps we would have been far better at it far sooner.  Maybe we even would not have fallen for that first hottie who gave it to us good, then rolled out of our life.

This is only a philosophical question on the surface, and one that I would like to hear what is said from both sides of the coin, so to speak, ladies and gentlemen.

There are practical matters, and perhaps legal ones.  If it were my hypothetical gawky sixteen year old son, I would want the woman to be sweet, young, beautiful, gentle, experienced and sincere.  And I would want the experience to be  more spontaneous, which is to say not so obviously paid for.  It would have to last a while.

All in all, an undertaking.

We tend to think our kids are innocent and naive. Wrong, they are NOT the way we were at the same age. Just spend an afternoon surfing myspace.com, the hype site for todays teens. After I read my sons page, I went to the pharmacy and bought him a good stash of condoms and gave him a little lecture about keeping things safe.

Mine's kind of innocent, good student, busy athlete, sweet kid.  And I have seen his MySpace site.

So, is it the sort of thing you might do?

...pervert, that is...in my family.

By the way, whom would you nominate for the job?  Somebody you've seen recently.  Would have to be someone special.

...being divorced, (There are a few.) is that smart sensitive kids know not to generate issues between the parents, or to exacerbate the ones that are already there.  My kids never tell mom.

So, who (in your vast experience) would be best suited for such an undertaking?

And I think a bit too young for using a hooker.
He needs to play with girls of his own age and decide, on his own, when he is ready for sex.
My daughter and son are into the teens phase of sexual discovery and I only observe and guide them. It's a wonderful time for them and I don't want to spoil.
I think you should let him decide what he wants to do with his body and with whom.  He will have sex when he's ready for it and not when YOU want him to do it.
Bringing a shy, sweet and somewhat innocent boy (as you describe him) to a hooker, for a professional service, is cruel in my book. You might create scars that will be difficult to heal.
Mrs Robinson Syndrome? todays teens are into a completely different world.

...there is one pevert in my family, and he is typing this note to you.

Anyway, you give very sobering and wise advice.  He is a sweet guy.  He probably should go his own speed.  But I do look back and I wish I knew a lot more than I did when I was 16.

And I would not want him to know it was paid for.  It could be wonderful, in a way.  A sweet young and experienced lady to initiate him and teach him, so he knew what the hell he was doing later.  ...and, yeah, so he'd be just a little bit jaded.

Maybe then he would not fall all over himself later with the girl who really does matter to him, as we all did as adolescents.  Maybe he would gain by being just a little bit more adult.

Hell, we send them to schools and camps and clinics for things that are a lot less important.

But, I have to say, I tend to err on the side of caution with kids, so your words ring true.

...grossly reduce the number of teenage pregnancies. After all, what young man, having had a real woman, would want to bother to pursue HS girls anymore?

At the very least, the all-consuming male "need" to end one's virginity is sated.

Frankly, I find this whole thread disgusting.  To think that father would consider introducing his son to the hobbyist world, unknowingly or not, borders on abuse.  In fact, I think we can determine that this person is no father at all.  Get real buddy...training my ass!!
