I will whitelist someone I have seen if they request. I would not recommend it for only source of screening.
Can someone explain the Whitelist process to me?
I'd like to get Whitelisted but not sure if the lady has to be a VIP member or what the hurdles are.
I guess it's a question for both the ladies and the gents: guys--how do you request a provider 'whitelist' you, and ladies--how do you 'whitelist' someone?
Curious to know how often ladies use the 'whitelist' feature.

But in terms of screening, it doesn't mean much to me. If I am not getting provider references quick enough, and you insist meeting ASAP, then I may contact a lady that has whitelisted you within the past 3 months... But that is a maybe. I am not hunting down OK's for a potential appointment, and whitelist is hardly a reputable referral for my safety.
I am sure some ladies will use it all the time or in a pinch, but to me it is too risky. Yes, I give whitelist referrals, the majority of gents I have only met once, and they have asked me for it. I am more inclined to feel confident in giving a direct reference, but it seems like there is less of that going on nowadays.
A lady that has a TER profile with basic membership can whitelist and view a gents whitelist. Like all of the hobby, YMMV
..and I didn't ask and would not. I am far from perfect but I do hope that I have treated the Ladies who I have had the privilege of visiting with the respect they so richly deserve. That may sound naive or a little idealistic but I do believe that us fellas and the Ladies are here for the same reason.
If I earn a whitelisting I appreciate it, if I earn a good recommendation I appreciate it any more.

Especially those I have taken a little chance on because they have only a couple of references or other means of verification. I figure this will help them schedule with ladies in the future. Once I have met them and find them to be safe and respectful, I feel that if I OK them, then other ladies will know I have seen them and can contact me to verify.
The same way I hope that gentlemen who enjoy my company will write me a nice review, I believe they deserve an OK if they are safe. I rarely ask for reviews and never trade whitelists for reviews! I just think that is the purpose of a review board in the first place...to make it easier to verify someone on both ends!
where a whitelist is "more" than an OK on P411 or DC. I'll always ask for an OK (in order to constantly have "recent" references"), but I see a whitelist as something that a provider would offer only after several dates and by her own will - not something I'd ask for, and certainly not something I'd try to trade for a review.
Maybe New TER will have some solid criteria to make whitelists a more valuable screening and reputation tool than they are today.
honestly I think of a whitelist as FAR lesser than an okay. Essentially it's meaningless to me and contributes nothing to screening because I will still need a reference from that person that answers the questions I ask of all references. That opinion is probably tempered by the fact that I initially assumed they were equal to okays on other sites, but when I followed up on a few different occasions, got negative assessments of people who had been whitelisted...one provider essentially said she did it so people would contact her about him...UM that's not actually how that works ma'am...
And I also assume that whoever wants a whitelist will ask for it the same way they ask for an okay. Both P411 and Datecheck have essentially moved away from providers initiating the okay process so I expect that if someone wants an okay they'll ask for one and whitelists fall in line even though I personally assign no importance to them
When I first started hobbying, I wondered how one would get whitelisted. I never asked since I was getting dates here anyways. Then I started to get whitelisted by a few of the providers here and I thought that was cool. Kind of disappointed in some ways that a lot of providers here feel like the whitelists are a waste of time, but not unexpectedly disappointed.

and not worth much today because of the inconsistency. I think TER is missing an opportunity by not making it a solid and dependable reference system.
Honestly, I think the Date-Check verifications that allow "Not Recommended", "Recommended" and "Highly Recommended" ratings would be most valuable for screening today.
thanks for all the response, ladies and gents. What I've gathered from this discourse (and it's not surprising) is that ladies use provider references as a means to determine if the guy is basically a decent person and not some kind of lunatic.
This brings me to the second form of verification I see requested: employment information.
From what I have read thus far from the ladies, employment verification wouldn't really accomplish too much, as far as what you're looking for from references (feel free to educate me if I'm mistaken on this). One thing that I have never compromised on in the past 3-4 years of hobbying is my anonymity: I've never given anyone my real name, never shared employment information, and no matter how much I liked a lady, I've never seen anyone more than one time (so she doesn't remember my face months from now).
As I've gotten older, I see the hobby as a way to meet interesting people, rather than a "goal-oriented" activity. Having said that, I'm still very hesitant to give away my employment information, thus the need for references! I don't like the idea of pestering someone for references (even once), so I'm curious...
Ladies: how do you do employment verification? Are you calling the receptionist at my job and asking to speak to me? Calling HR to confirm I work there? I'm just curious what this process is like before I think about giving this info to someone.
