I got a text warning me about Virginia code 18.2-346 and warning me my phone number was associated with an investigation…I’m 97% sure it’s a scam bc the police don’t usually warn people they’re investigating but just wondering if anybody else has gotten this sort of scam…thanks in advance

Get a PRE PAID PHONE
Use that IPhone 10 or Galaxy S9 in the junk draw. Factory reset and pre-paid text usage.

That hardly prevents these types of scam texts or spam phone calls.

 
It doesn't matter what brand phone you use.

Don't "usually"? Try never for these types of investigations. Did you try looking up the number? Google it and see what shows and look up the number with a service like TruthFinder and see what comes up.

 
Ignore it and block the number.
