I visited Tara recently who comes in town from NC once in a while, she has a lot of reviews specially recent so I thought she is legit, boy was I wrong!
The pics from her backpage ad represent a cute young girl with a nice face, her site has some pics that look a little different but are of her, like the curly hair one is much closer to her actual face. There is a clear difference in between the pics from backpage and her site.
First of all the face was nothing like her backpage ad, must older. She showed up with flip flops and was very over weight, I don't see how anyone would not be shocked when she shows up wearing flip flocks and at least 50 pounds over!
I'm assuming the reviews are mostly friends of her or maybe herself creating fake reviews.
I have seen her and reviewed her, the pics on her website are her, but I would agree that the top few pics on BP are either very old or fake - not sure who posted those for her - she was working with a few others, someone else may have made the post and added the pics to boost her business. But for the price she charges, she offers a good performance - and reading the reviews, even her most recent reviews (unusually high scores) may be from folks who enjoyed some of the fetish offerings she makes available. Her website pics are accurate in my opinion, albeit some being posed to enhance her desirable features and hide her less desirable features. Collectively, the reviews give you a good idea what an experience with her will be like.

review each, and that is not a good sign. Like you said, it is probably her friends or her that wrote those reviews to boost her business. The rest of her reviews average 5/5, so, that should be a big indicator as to the type of service you'll get.
Besides, she charges like $60 for 15 minutes, and her rates are considerably low. You can't expect to get a filet and not pay the full price. Usually when you pay $1.99lb for a filet, it's usually overdue. Same shit. Anyhow, when you look at a provider's profile, you want to look at the overall scores, and the consistencies of the scores. The outliers need to be scrutinize. Shit happens.
