Just a general question/comment about scams and rip-offs. It has never happened to me, thanks to TER, but it seems that it must be a pretty dangerous game for the fake providers. So, they lure testosterone pumped up guys to their door, and not only reject them, but take their money as well. It just seems that they are really playing with fire and can't imagine that it is really worth it to them. Any thoughts?

I think it's sort or like stealing from a thief. There's a good chance you're stepping out on your wife or SO, dealing with something illegal -- how many waves are you gonna make? What sort of risk are you going to take? I think you're right, they take the chance that some guy will have nothing to lose and the rage overtakes him, but they probably have gotten good enough at reading guys to know whether or not to even answer the door if they are planning a rip-off.

are outcall only. If you see a girl that does OUTCALL only with no review history to support her credibility, it should be a major red flag.

Most RIP OFFs don't lure you to their place, but rather come to your place, so they can take your donation and run. When the girl is at her incall, where is she going to run? You have more power when you are at their incall and vice-versa.

It happened to me years ago.  I was new to DC and didn't really know the scene.  She showed up and asked to see my drivers license, called to "check in" with her agency.  She read all my information to the person on the phone.  Hung up and asked, "what would you like to do?"  I asked to start off with a massage and knew by her look something was wrong.  She said "that is illegal."  I asked for my money back and she said that she was going to call her agency and tell them to call the cops.

She had all my info. and a big guy who was her driver.  In retrospect, she probably wouldn't do anything but I played it safe and told her to get out.  200.00 down the drain.  That was probably like 97.  So, at that time nothing to sneeze at.

Since then, I've always used TER or that other board, (which seems oddly quiet anymore).  Never been taken since.

Here is a great example. Do a little research and in this case you will find that several hobbyists has already been ripped off. You wonder why they continue to fall into the same trap (lack of research and preparation).

I've wondered about that myself.  Regardless of the possible ramifications, I can see that action provoking some guys to react with extreme violence.

in the reverse. Some girls get empty envelopes from guys who think that we won't call for help or go to LE because we are escorts and assume they can get away with it with no problem. It's unfortunate that these kind of people, men and women both, exist in our hobby.
