Not really a newbie, but it's been at least a decade... so no references available.  I reached out to a couple people this week and they weren't interested.  Thoughts from anyone on how to best go about this?

I'm in a similar situation. Nine years since my last review and she was retiring after that tour. I'm not looking for this weekend but will start in earnest next week. I'll need sympathy for a 'old man'. Some young lady will surely want to help me have a little pleasure before I go to the great beyond and I'm getting closer every day.

Well I'm sure you could find someone on BP, but I won't go there except for the amusing ads.Not many pictures go with the girl placing the ad according to the reviews. You may find someone worth you time but I'm looking for something better and will supply a reference if needed. BP's aren't good references and not my cup of tea. Although some of the fellows find a gem every now and then. Good luck.

Many do, and have done. I would say provide those established but older references (better than nothing), links to your older reviews, be ready to provide employment information for verification, be willing to provide an in-person "social-only" meeting. I would think that would help a lot -- more than playing on sympathies

Yes, I could give one that's retired and she would probably respond but I would hate to bother her as she's moved on.  

"social-only" is on my agenda but, I don't drink and have a restricted diet. So, social for me would be maybe buy a little something at VS or a walk in the park. That said, I'm in a relationship that has become platonic and that's why I'm here. So discretion is important because I wouldn't hurt her for the world.
 
As for 'sympathy' that was just kidding. Chronologically I old, physically not hardly, mentally I'm a kid in a candy store here. Unless I get hit by a truck, I'll be around awhile
