Hello, I am traveling to DC and will be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn DC (815 14th Street, NW).  Any recommendations on restaurants that is walking distance from the hotel?  Fine dining choices are better.  Thanks!

Take a look at the Yelp reviews for "Oya" -- great atmosphere, good date place.

You are at 14th and I roughly. DC has no J street, otherwise if you know your alphabet and numbers, you can navigate DC apart from the (diagonal state name streets).

Very near you -- DC Coast and Fujimar are at 14th and K and next door to each other. Both are good; the former is high end seafood place and the latter is Japanese/Peruvian (yes, really) with a strong seafood element too.

Bobby Van's Steakhouse is a 12th and New York (12th between H and I). If you are willing to go a few blocks further, Prime Rib is much better steak place (K Street between 20th and 21st).

There are many, many others. You are in the core of the business hotel area of downtown DC.

Northern Italian restaurant.  They have a Sunset menu, a monthly regional menu, so they're good for a relatively inexpensive meal but also classy enough for a date place.

Best restaurant in the city, bar none, on a daily basis. 24th and Penn Ave. Do not miss. Ask for Johnny as your waiter; he is the captain and will steer you right.

I like BLT Steak which is around the corner as well.  If you like Southern cooking, Georgia Browns is over on 15th and was a favorite of President Clinton.

Bon appetit!

If you walk about 2 blocks north on 14st thru Scott Circle, you will come to the best strip of new restaurants in the city. Best bets are Estadio (Spanish tapas), Churchkey (555 bears on the menu), Pearl Dive Oyster Bar (seafood w/a great bar upstairs), Pig (pork centric menu), Posto (Italian). And if you are up for a short cab ride go father up 14th to find lots of great options. The above suggestion o BLT Steak is a excellent choice for a steak house (I used to work there). PM me for more suggestions.

is at 15th & H, just about as far away but opposite direction.  Food is much the same at both,  steakhouse prices a couple bucks higher, slightly more formal atmosphere than the grill.   But excellent steaks & chops at both.

It's on F Street across the street from the Metro Center station. Fresh seafood, big atmosphere.
