As I have suggested before, it is in the mind of the beholder.  I know of some providers who do not differentiate their rates at all.  Whether you see them socially (or for "other pursuits"), there is no difference.  After all, the legal disclaimor says you are paying for their time and for nothing else.  A true provider (particularly one who doesn't desire social pursuits as such) will not differentiate and will charge the same rate regardless.  Is this right?  That is up to the individual  hobbyist customer.  The question is: Is it right for YOU the customer.  Only YOU can decide that.  Do be aware that there are OTHER providers who do not dismiss social contact at either a reduced rate or arranged more as a standard "vanilla world" date.  That is up to the provider as well.  Chances are, if I were to pursue social contact with a provider and she agreed, I would desire something more akin to the latter.  There was one provider who I regarded as incredible enough to have CONSIDERED paying her standard rate for social contact.  As it turned out, it did not happen anyway.  That was probably for the best, all around.

 Of course, this whole point becomes moot for MOST providers.  This is because a given hobbyist would only consider a small percentage of the providers that he or she sees as ones with whom he or she would desire a social contact at all.  Just like a hobbyist would not necessarily desire an overnight or an extended session with just anyone.
