I just wrote a review for a provider I saw earlier today.  (we will see if they post it, I tried to be nice since she did provide)

I was looking for something new and different and I happened to read the "TER New Reviews" while shopping and saw an incredible review (by someone that reviews many) for a BP advertisement that I wouldn't have looked at twice had this review not pointed me to it.

You know the old saying "YMMV"... well his mileage suggested he was getting GREAT PRIUS mileage.  Whereas I barely made it down the driveway in an hour.

Just a word to the wise... BP ads that are "too good to be true" are well known.  This was the first time I found a "TER Review" that was "too good to be true".  Although, I should have known. Lesson learned.

I still can't believe he got the service he described and, yes, I sent him a PM asking "Really?"

(I did not post any links on purpose, no need to call out the provider or the reviewer, just wanted to help)  

Moral of the story:  For a good time, wait for multiple similar reviews on the rare diamonds at zirconia prices.

"Never rely on one or two reviews. 10 minimum, unless you're into TOFTT'ing."  
 
I disagree.
 If the right person reviews the provider, one review is adequate.
Some reviewers have "never" let me down, with their interpretation of the number system.
Long live the King..
If I waited until ten reviews on some quality providers, they would be gone before I arrived.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.  It never hurts to let others know about the provider.  You can post a mini review here to help others.  It is possible that the "other" reviewer had a different experience or that the provider had a bad day.  Either way inconsistent reviews are helpful to all.
Just my 2 cents.

Sorry you barely made it down the driveway.  It all boils down to research, not just the ladies, but also the reviewers.  And other boards besides TER.  In the end, think with your big head.

I understand your perspective.  But in this case, her ads were not at fault.  It was entirely the IMHO bogus review.

I would never have considered her had it not been for the review, but since she is a local and regular BP provider, I don't want to post a negative mini on the boards.  Most mini's I read are fairly positive.

I wrote a review, hopefully it will be up soon before someone else gets suckered by the first review of this provider who I am sure serves a grateful niche market.

Waiting for ten reviews is stupid even moronic. It depends on the situation, the reviewer, the chance you can track down independent info from other net sources. Lots of factors can go into this.
But do note, the general thinking is "40% of reviews are fake". Qoute from thread yesterday made by a TER insider in a position to know.
Caveat Emptor now as always..

Typical I'll cross check past reviews of the reviewers who gave highest and lowest points, and see if reviewers had reviewed any girls you met. To me, it works most of the time since not everyone has the same taste, same preference.

I agree, his 50+ reviews since August 2010 seems to set off my BS detector. It's not just the sudden rush of reviews but also his self indulgence that he throws around within the review.

As a follow-up, the admins have justifiably rejected my first review.  I have edited it and resubmitted.  I was angry with the "reviewer" and was taking it out on the provider in my review.  She didn't deserve it.  She was a willing and able provider.

I was admittedly a tad steamed at the fabricated review by someone who (now) seems impossibly over-active (and apparently very wealthy) in the hobby.

Hopefully my new review will get posted.  I would not have resubmitted a review except that the admins have NOT removed his fabricated review.
