Actually I've used one on my home computer to track where my teens were going.  It has the added benefit to tell track what you did if you screw up your computer installing something.  Some are really simple and run in stealth mode that only a certain combination of keys will activate.  Save a complete text log and then a screenshot every 5-10 seconds.

After thinking a while about the national post about "sadwife" lambasting her hubby for using providers when she was at home, hot and horny and willing to do just about anything, I realize now sadwife was my ex.

No, in all seriousness, the question is how can an S.O. find out?  Four years ago, my ex did put something called a "keystroke program" on my computer.  Every keystroke was recorded and e-mailed to an investigator by a worm in my computer.

I wasn't on this site yet, but there were some incriminating things being typed.  All I can say as a warning for anyone here is that there were definitely signs at the time.  If you think the S.O. may be acting suspicious, and if your computer is also acting funny, have it checked it out.  Save your data and re-format if you have to.

If anyone else has any other technical advice or experience with these nefarious programs, I'd love to hear about it.

...for starters, I'm not buying this story.  Most men who have a wife who is hot, horny, and willing, know this, and don't tend to stray.  Some people may think that giving it up once every couple of weeks is enough, but sadly it's not the case.

I'm not married.  I have no girlfriend.  I couldn't do this if I had someone because I'm too sloppy at covering my trail.  But then again, I don't really have to.

If you're married and insist on doing this, I hope you at least have the common sense to do this on your own computer and not the family one.  You can get a basic laptop for $800.  You keep it at your side at all times and say it's for work.  Make sure the family computer is so nice that she won't want to touch your "piece of shit" computer.  And most importantly, make sure you need an administrator password in order to install anything on your computer.

Keystroke programs do exist.  I don't know much about them.  If your ex had one put on your computer, she already had good reason to suspect something was going on.  You were well on your way to getting busted.  I think most decent anti-spyware programs can catch it and alert you to it.  But I'm not an expert on this.

For what it is worth

It is extremely easy to put spy programs on a computer.  You can even do it without physical access to that computer.  For example someone could send you an email with an attachment.  When you open the attachment, it plays some simple video, joke, cartoon, etc.  But it could have an executable that loads the spy application on your machine.    What do you think those porn sites and advertiser do?  They load slimmed down spy applications on your computer so they can tailor sites and/or advertisement to the user.  I would bet a lot of money that if you do a search on your computer for something called “gator”, 90 percent of the machines searched would have it.  What is “gator”? Its an advertisement spy program you pick up when you click on various ads.    But porn sites are notorious for spy programs.

Now if I have you concerned.   Go to google and look up “ad-ware” or “spybot” and load the free versions and run them once a day.  Also, Microsoft now has something called Antispyware that runs automatically everyday and reports back.   But in the end, they wont pick up the ones your wife would purchase.

That being said, how many wives out there are proficient enough with a computer that they could actual find and install a program like that?  I wouldn’t think there are many.  But I could be wrong.

If you are paranoid (or in my case knowledgeable about the subject), get a separate computer and never use a credit card, register, or buy anything through that computer.  Don’t even register MS operating system, office or virus protection unless under false information.   Never put anything on it that someone could go through via a spy program that links to you personally.  Use temp credit cards for your porn sites, etc.  (I don’t do, but someone explained them on here a few weeks ago)  BUT NEVER put any personal info on the system that is true.

Hope this helps.

... my ex was not proficient.  The program and instructions came from an investigator or an attorney.  Which means what I said before is the case, all the other signs will likely be there before something like this happens.

It's okay in the end though.  My lawyer was so much better than hers.  I got the best of it, which is rare.  If you think you need a divorce laywer in Montgomery, PM me.  My guys were the best.

... and the "sadwife" Jayla put up did not seem all that believable.

The rest is true.  "Well on your way..." is about right.  Four years ago was before decent spyware programs, which I hope do catch keystroke programs.

There are three computers in this house now.  Mine is the worst one.

He called my house and told me everything that was typed on their computer.. Damn I miss that girl..lol The program work.
