DC AMP Scene?

Hi all,
As a long time observer and abuser of the DC AMP scene, I have developed a sense of what is "normal" and what is not. Several things have happened lately which lead me to believe that there is "something" going on in the Asian provider/worker community. Let me run it down for you, and lets hear what you think:

1) A well known group of Asian ladies (Thai, Malay, Chinese, etc) gets hit by a gang of hoods who burst in waving badges and then take any money laying around and leave ... no arrest.

2) Almost all of the Asian ladies who advertise on CL stop doing so. (only a rare few now)

3) A well known and established AMP in the Woodbridge area starts advertising on CL, and publishes a web site with pics.

4) A less well known AMP in downtown also starts advertising on CL, with almost identical ad copy to #3.

5) Several "new" spas open either near old ones or at the same address. Talks w/ employees indicate that there is "new owner".

6) Saw a relatively new ad today which generated some interest. Went there, today and the sign was for a totally different new name. Mama San said "new owner" when asked.

Now, any one of these things taken by themselves would not be cause for concern, or even as an indicator that things were not "normal" , but taken together, ????? I just don't know.

Any comments from the board, or am I just being my usual paranoid self.

I'm not as well-versed as some, but the only thing I find shocking or surprising is #1. And that would depend on the jurisdiction, whether it was an AMP or some other operation; it's not clear if they were real cops (feds?) or something else, so hard to know what it means.

Jurisdiction:  Nova

Former AMP ladies working as a group of indies.

Probably not real cops. No other action taken, just the money.  Of course all the ladies left.  Operation continues, but no ads, not many ladies.

In their day, were very popular on CL, with a similar price structure as the AMPs.

Many years ago I was big on AMP as the indies were all pretty overpriced and most often rip offs. But then after finding this resource I have changed to patronizing the indies. Now recently I have tried some of the AMPs again. My what a change. Full service is not unusual at all now. It was very rare 15 years ago. Montgomery county has cleaned them all out, but things seem to have gotten looser in DC.

My guess based on this latest info is some criminal gang with knowledge of escort/AMP scene. This could mean trouble for providers -- and us if it continues.

They are not cops, FEDS or any other LE. Just a bunch of punks trying to rearrange their finances at the expence of the AMP's and the customers. Trust me on this one. I know. Either go there well heeled or not at all. For me, I have had enough drama and hassels in my life. I now like things nice and easy or not at all;-)
