both require that you can produce the URL of a picture - tineye is a little easier to use, to use google, you need to know to click on the image of a camera in the search field to allow the input of an image URL.
Google is pretty slick, in that it also shows images that are similar - I've found a few where the poster had just cropped some stuff out to try to hide the real photo....
