Thank you for your comments and the point is taken on using an alias.  I don't post very often so don't really think about that.

I also wasn't asking, nor intending, to open up a conversation about "so, how exactly do you screen?" I just thought it was weird that the reference I provided wasn't used for it's sole purpose.

I had great times with both providers, they are clearly pros who know what they're doing and I'm
sure are being safe for both of us.  I just thought it was a little curious when I was in my account and saw they hadn't looked at it.

I use Date Check and enjoy it.  Have been able to really cut down on the info I give out and have met some good providers through them as well.  So no intention of stopping that service, but have a question about something.

On my last two dates I provided DC as my only reference.  Other info given was first name and cell number.  On both, the provider quickly made the appointment, but neither actually checked me out on DC.  No one has looked at my page for a few weeks.

Both providers are long standing and well respected.  With one it came up and she said she goes a lot by the tone of the conversation when first talking to a prospective client.  The other I haven't had the date yet, but we've communicated very well over email and everything is good to go.

Obviously, I don't want to say who they are, I don't want to put it in anyone's mind that someone may be lax on screening, but I'm just curious if this sounds odd?

they are not in a hurry to explain to clients, or on a public board lol

If the lady has a good review history and recent reviews, don't sweat it. If nothing else she's lucky, and I for one would rather be lucky than good lol

I've had many ladies check my date check profile even when I had not requested a date, and several with whom I scheduled apparently did not check me out there.  But they do have other methods...

Whatever you do, don't "out" a provider over something like this. The fact that you posted in your own username may already lead some to conclude that the *apparent* laxity of screening may be attributed to the next couple of ladies you review.....   sometimes it is important to be discreet with certain topics, and use an alias.

Thank you for the PSA!!!   Coming from you, means more then coming from me!!!!  My screening process is painless but RIGHT ON!!!

BTW, all the talk about agencies has made me PEEK!!!!  The Agencies bring in some HOT talent, no doubt!!

THE HOBBY is fun, not without its pitfulls, but the DRAMA.....not worth it...to much TESTASTERONE!!!   Enjoy the flow of HOT PYt's bot when in MILF MODE.....

PEACE

on this board.

The bias against aliases is unfortunate. Too many people post things "in the clear" that have the potential of reflecting negatively on the providers they have reviewed or will review, for just one example...

common sense would suggest that a post should be judged by its merits rather than by whether the poster uses his TER issued alias, or one of his / her own choosing.

Frankly I think the anti-alias thing is simply argumentum ad hominem - a logical fallacy resorted to by those who do not desire or are not able to mount an argument against a position that discomfits them.

With respect agencies, I have no problem with a hobbyist who chooses not to use them. Makes it easier for me to have the days / times I prefer lol. However, the ill informed innuendo against agencies does a disservice to botht the ladies who choose that business model, and the readers, who may be persuaded to forego excellent hobbying opportunities by those with an anti-agency bias.....

well then - hope all is well with you. Don't be a stranger ';-)

Cheers

I know there's been a lot of discussions about aliases recently, but essentially all the controversy is focused on the issue of using aliases to sling mud.

In fact I've seen several posts recently that talk to just what you mention:  the need to use aliases when your real handle could link info to others that is best not done.  There are indeed good uses of sliases.

Agencies are a different issue.  They have some clear benefits and disadvantages when compaired to independents and a lot of guys seem to have weighed the +s and -s and decided that for them one or the other is better.  I don't know a lot of guys who are not predisposed to one or the other.

For my situation and needsa independents outweigh agencies most the time, but I have never had anything against honest agencies.  Certainly not against the women in the agencies as a group.  The biggets issue I have is agencies can hide a far more pimp-like arrangement and can too easily be a cover for forced trafficing.  Supposed independents can as well, but it is less likely.

DateCheck is a convenient way to have your references all listed in one place, but I think many ladies have varying methods to verify someone. Each seem to have their own comfort level of screening to put them at ease. I have seen some well reviewed ladies who apparently did not screen at all...on the other hand I have been surprised how much some were able to find out with very little info. There is no set standard.

People behave and have different instincts. Many people are able to assess another on variety of factors.

Moreover, you don't want to say who they are but, wanted to post partial info on a discussion board for what purpose?

I wouldn't say lax... I won't say I screen everyone I too go by conversation and gut feeling is never wrong and I don't have a problem saying either i'm slightly newbie friendly but if I feel I need more from the guy I screen, so I guess doesn't sound too odd to me.
