Congratulations to you on your perception in working out a system and agency arrangement that works for you. Just as important thanks for taking time to explain how it works for you here..it could be very helpful to someone.

Alas, I suspect you are the exception with the relationship you have with your agency.

You might consider giving advise to the less organized and, frannkly, less savy on how they might run their affairs Penelope! Sort of like The Love Godess does only not for free..A lot of girls really dont know quite what to do in many situations and too late realize this business isnt as simple as they thought.

I certainly find it hard to believe that an appt is made "at earliest eight hours from the first phone call."  If this were true, it's probably the exception and not the rule.  And if there was another appt, I also doubt that it would be hours from the previous appt.  Not calling you a liar, but your story isn't feasible in a business where time is money and hotels don't charge by the hour.

Your description of events sounds like that of an independent and not an agency girl.  But I understand your post is meant to defend agencies, in particular your agency.  Your post is an advertisement as to why your agency is better (true or not...others can decide).

I didn't want to hijack the earlier thread regarding agency girls so, I've created a new one. The original post I'm responded to is linked.

---

Welcome to the life of a Dreams Escorts. More often than not, we live our own personal lives rather than in our work. We have children, go to school, keep a part time job, have hobbies of our own, etc. We generally live everyday and do our own thing. We aren't constantly thinking about our next call.

Somewhere during the day, we receive a phone call about an appointment. Once scheduling as been confirmed, preparations begin. Driving time and other logistics take place. Generally, an appointment is set at earliest eight hours from the first phone call.

At a reasonable time beforehand, we call in our arrival and prep our location. We take our time getting ready; showering, makeup, candles, etc, meticulously preparing everything to make sure things are as perfect as they can be. The agency calls in at intervals to make sure things are going smoothly. We have moments to have a cordial conversation with Lee about how things are going, if anything new has cropped up in our lives, and just chat as we prep.

A client arrives and things begin and as everything eventually does, our appointment ends. This is the point where we get to wind down. We give our briefing to the agency, check in with security, and move on to the rest of our day. If have another appointment set up, it'll be hours from now. We have time to draw a bath, retouch makeup, go home, feed the dog, etc.

There are hardly any mistakes because there is no rush. Everyone has time to think, time to prepare, time to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. High volume may be great for the sake of money but, when you're trying to create an experience rather than giving a service, time is essential.

I'm saddened to know that most other people work the way you have described (overworked to the point of physical and mental exhaustion). While I understand the desire for a lot of money quickly, I'd rather enjoy a steady stream of income without needing to add to my financial, mental, and physical expenses. I don't get stressed to the point where I cannot take care of myself or become a even larger risk to someone else.

Why would I need to? If I wanted the stress that came with working at a job where I was under appreciated, overworked, and had long hours, I'd go back to the business world.

There is a way to be a part of this industry where you can earn money and be happy at the same time. A lot of people say that it's by becoming an independent. While I don't disagree with that statement entirely, I disagree with what it implies; that becoming an independent is the ONLY way to be happy with this job. There are no absolutes and there are other ways. Even what I've described is just another solution to a formula with infinite possibilities. People just need to find the one that works for them.

Having met a couple of the ladies from Dreams ( sorry Penelope, i have not had the pleasure yet of meeting you) I believe what she is saying. Lee runs a tight ship and I do not believe he would run a revolving door on the hour 24/7. When I have scheduled it has taken a minimum 5 hours from my call and not because there was 5 appointments just prior to my appointment. Yes the ladies may have another appointment or so that day but it is not a one right after another   Just my opinion.

It's interesting to me to read Penelope's take, the long and winding road of the other "agencys stories", the independent take and still people right things like ".....defend their bosses...."  The way I see it, everyone has been given different views of reality of the inner workings of the industry.  One will always find something "wrong" with someone else's business model.  Thee will always be disgruntled employees no matter what and there will always be employees that are more than thankful just to have a decent paying job.  It seems that we, the readers of this forum. have been given mostly true information on how various facets of this industry work.  How many corporations reveal their actual working doctrine to the public?  Take the info given, dissect it as you wish and proceed with your way of thinking any way you like.  If you don't like what you've read, adjust your life accordingly.  I for one, appreciate knowledge.  I thank you, Penelope and the rest who have chimed in on what and how the industry works.  It helps me make decisions on how I'll spend my money.

I appreciate the skepticism and to be honest, I expected it.

The point I was trying to make was that you can still make money in this business without necessarily giving in to certain assumptions like 'time is money'. Sure, hotels don't charge by the hour but, it is possible to pay a reasonable price for a 3 star hotel room for a night, have perhaps one or two appointments in that time span and, make out with a profit that helps pay bills. Now of course, this depends on your definition of said profit. Some people are happy with $500 out of one day of work while others want $2000.

I set my defenses not for my agency (although I do love working for them) but, for the idea that it is possible to earn a living in this business in a different manner. I have nothing against independents and how they run their business. However, I've seen independents who have failed because they don't understand how to run themselves as a business just as much as I've seen agency girls fail because they don't want to follow agency procedure.

The post was not meant to be a backhanded ad but rather, an alternate view into working within the business. People are of the opinion that all agencies put their girls through back to back appointments and it's better to be an independent. I was just pointing out that neither of those points are necessarily true in all cases. No more, no less. Admittedly, it may not have been worded as well as I would have liked but, that doesn't negate the point I've attempted to make.

I don't take the point personally but, I will say that clients that have seen me understand that that does not even come close to describing me.

Besides, I don't need to defend Lee. He does a good job making an ass of himself and being his own critic all on his own. Why do I need to chime in?

However, let me venture out from my nice quiet place to say, I hope my date will also put in a word or two about the experience we had at the dreams agency social,
People were very pleasant, the ladies, were just that, they were classy, well dressed, nothing vulgar, or tasteless, there was lots of great conversation, and I felt very at ease around them, and I would not hesitate to attend another one with great anticipation,
for people like this skankazoid fella, you will just have to walk a mile in Penelopes high heels, before you can jump to conclusions about her, or the way things are run there..

I think her observations are spot on. If you look at my review history you'll notice I usually book with top Indies in various regions not all of whom have needed or wanted additional reviews. The indies I see have high ratings because they are like Penelope, balanced and organized both personally and professionally. There is no way an escort can continually get ratings of 9 or 10 without being great in all facets of life, not just escorting. I am quite sure someday when Penelope retires she will be great in the next phase of her life whatever that may hold. Some agencies are probably better to work with than others from the ladies viewpoint. I've only worked with Dreams since I don't live in the DC area and Lee is willing to work with me. I think penelope has a good take on things, escort on a part-time basis and keep it all in balance.
