May be the OP uses standard deduction. You can file early if you use standard deduction, if your company sends you W2. But its very uncommon for companies to send W2s this early.

My company had electronic w-2s sent yesterday, and I used turbo tax. I filed the electronic equivalent of a 1040-ez.

Well in that case I suppose you could file this early. I'm trying to get every penny comming to me by itemizing.
