Per the article:

She also messaged that she accepted cash-only payments of $120 for 15 minutes, $160 for 30 minutes, and $300 for an hour, according to the search warrant affidavit.

The woman was later observed by police leaving and returning to a house . Police found that the house is a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom Airbnb with a three-night stay minimum price of $3,652.

The article says it's a 3 bedroom place. I would guess that she was sharing the rental with other women.

Why would any of us care if we're dead?

Police have technology to break the encryption.   If it's high priority it can move up the chain fast.

This must have been a unique set of circumstances, with finding a deadman sitting in his car.

Agree that, depending on the situation, a password is going to do nothing. But deleting the messages (and possibly making sure the deleted messages are actually purged and not sitting in the equivalent of some trashcan/recycle bin, is a much better idea than thinking a password is keeping the other party safe.

And?? Speaking for myself, if I'm dead I don't care what happens at that point.

I know a provider who had to do cpr until emt arrived. Her long time regular died in her room. He had lots of providers #’s saved in his phone. Not utilizing their real names, but names he created on his own. I can only imagine how his wife would feel after seeing this in his phone. Another great reason to know your friend’s real life information because when the police arrived she was ready for the questioning.

Regardless life happens it’s traumatic. The aftercare for both parties involved can be lifelong.  Please be mindful. As a human who cares it’s important whom you share your energy with. Think. 🤔
who allegedly said in text messages that she would engage in sex acts with a condom between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. She also messaged that she accepted cash-only payments of $120 for 15 minutes, $160 for 30 minutes, and $300 for an hour, 💭 Airbnb with a three-night stay minimum price of $3,652
Keeping a bawdy place is a Class 1 misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in prison and/or a $2,500 fine.

And I suspect the living don't care about your death but the do -- both the provider and potentially all the other clients that might be exposed do care if they are fucked over because you don't care.
