I see no reason for the hostility. Legit question.

Hi All -

A close female friend is interested in clubs that cater to the 'lifestyle' in the greater Washington DC area; basically, Baltimore, DC, and Richmond.  Please PM me or respond if you have any experience (good or bad).  Depending upon the club, I may be the "+ 1".  She has been looking at info online but wanted more personal input.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

we don't know you. you have no reviews. you have no board presence and unless i am mistaken are an unknown quantity.

how do we know you aren't up to some sort of mischief? it is election time and mischief abounds.

good luck if you are legit.

why does it matter if this person has reviews or not.  they are only asking about local swing clubs.  not asking about other providers or who to take etc.    it was an easy question and nothing illegal about it.  swing clubs are not illegal in the US.

I see no reason for the hostility. Legit question.

why not simply answer it? why attack me for thinking it risky? or are you the Emperor of the Universe?

I, a regular board poster, want to know the answer to this question.

Depends on what your looking for.  There are a couple nice clubs I like.  There is one right around the Capital that features a full big band and play mostly Tommy Dorsey.  The lead guy on the trombone really looks like Dorsey.  Then there is the the Club Forties which features the Harry James Band which plays some 40"s Sinatra.  Best you know how to dance that BIG Band Swing Style if you get on the floor.

For those who are curious enough to wonder about the identity of someone who posts on a message board that caters to short-term arrangements, I've been a TER member for nearly a decade (I believe the moderator can rep to this provided he has access to a member's account history...).  I am an unknown to most on the board because I keep a very low profile and never write reviews.  I do, however, participate (and have participated for years) using an alias. Unfortunately, TER's messaging system does not allow for aliases to receive PMs, even if the member is a VIP.

Since we're on the topic, I do not write reviews because they make public something that I strive to keep private.  I operate with the simple fact that everything you do online can be traced back to the real you.  While this may not matter to some, it does to me. I really appreciate those members who do take the time and effort to write them because I use them as one part of my personal due diligence.  I realize that this may not be in the spirit of TER, so I apologize.

For those that took the time to respond to my post in a helpful (or humorous) manner, thank you!  I appreciate the input and the jokes.
