Hi all -- A newbie here that wants to know if it would be quicker/easier to deal with a local agency or to go with datecheck and look for independents?

I have started an application with Datecheck and it should go through (there's nothing out of the ordinary about me) but I wondered if it's easier and quicker in the DC area to go with an agency for first timers?

It seems for the most part the agencies have their own screening methods and will not accept DC without referrals. As a newbie, it's tough to gain entry -- though I understand it gets easier later.

Maybe it's a moot point since I won't have any time until the 28th anyway. But I feel so impatient!!

DC area has lot of good agencies. ClassyDC, PrimeDC, ECG. I've used the first two a lot. I highly recommend them

Date-Check should work *both* as a pre-qualified independent escort shopping mall (though quite a few agency girls will be found there) AND as a reference source for some of the local agencies....

I also recommend Preferred411.

I started with a couple asian agencies while I got verified by DC and P411, although the verifications were done very quickly.  The only references I've ever given have been DC and/or P411, plus some personal info.  You can probably skip the personal info for the most part, but unlike many, I have no problem giving a reasonable amount.  If you have those two verifications and communicate your newbie status, even some indies who normally want references might be willing to see you.
