I will be visiting DC 9/10-9/12 anyone have an area they can recommend that I stay? I haven't been to DC in a while so not sure how any of the areas have changed. I prefer upscale, safe areas.

If you want to stay in DC proper, I would go with the DuPont Circle area.

I know a few ladies who no longer visit DC proper due to crime. You can't go wrong with the Tyson's Corner area, or Crystal City near DCA.

I live in NW DC, widely considered one of the nicest/safer parts of town. Unfortunately the whole city is experiencing the worst crime in 20 years and even the nicer parts of town aren’t immune to that. There are certain parts of the city that you should absolutely stay away from, most of them in NE, SE and SW. Dupont Circle is nice but still subject to a lot more crime than in the past. Just make sure your Street Smarts button is turned on. Or just go across the river to Arlington, VA where you’ll find plenty of hotels and significantly more safety. Plus it’s close to DC.

I think the area around NATS PARK is pretty good.. I was just there for Yankees v/s Nats and stayed across the stadium. A short walk. I stayed overnight and did 2 games.  That's SE DC..

I myself was wondering if anyone would have good Asian food recommendation in China Town area. I need to meet a business associate for lunch..  I came up with Tony Cheng.'s Mongolian Restaurant and it has some good reviews..

Any Thoughts?

It’s not bad. But just don’t get too comfortable.
