Shame Beefeater doesn't have a clue about the Bahamas resortwise. If you can afford it the One and Only is excellent. So are Compass Point and Pink Sands. Four Seasons there is also excellent. Friends have raved about Marley Resort and Spa.
Hobbywise at the a more golf oriented or fishing oriented resort ladies are available and easily obtained. If you look like you have the right demographic they will approach you or your resort or boat can also help broker the deal. We re talking per hour fees that are outside of Beefeater's norm of $200 to $300 a hour. We have entertained numerous clients in the Bahamas w/o an issue. Companionship can also be found at the One and Only
You may want to consider bringing your own entertainment. A week at the One and Only or Compass Point with Petite Nicole after hurricane season sounds real interesting.
Remember peak hurricane season starts in a week and runs through the end of September.
So a friend of mine (not a hobbyist) is trying to get me to take my first trip to the bahamas. I've never been, so any tips from anyone on here? Anything exciting?
Getting tips from here is a start, but I suggest that you also get with a couple travel agents for some info. Also the internet is a good source of information.
I travel to the Caribbean a couple of times a year for long weekends and have been to the Bahamas twice. I could write a short book on what I didn't like about the Bahamas, but just as YMMV with providers the same can be said about Caribbean islands. Ultimately, it depends upon what you're looking for. My experiences weren't low key or great: alot of people and I didn't like the service. But I like to be a pampered hermit when I go to an island, so the Bahamas weren't a good fit for me.
If you're looking to find a provider there, then you may want to adjust your expectations and bring one with you.
