Some of my fondest hobbying memories are in Dupont but since I live within walking distance and metro is perfect its a win/win!
At the risk of offending(and everyone knows how averse i am to that)i would like some advice on partaking within the Dupont Circle area. It would be on a Sunday morning. What should i expect/be wary of? I have very little experience with that mess you all call a city; sorry.
Next question; which agencies are the most reliable. Which ones should i avoid?
Muchas Grass-i-ass
it drives me nuts too.
my least favorite place to visit an incall.
it is only convenient for people who live or work in the city.
I tried taking the metro from where I'm at but figured with the parking discounts it is much easier to just drive there and park car in a garage.... rather than parking my car at some kiss ride, get a metro card, and all that shit.
It takes literally 1 minute to get a Metro farecard, and just about any of the better hotels in DC either have a parking garage or one within a block. To each their own, if driving in and parking is better for a person there is plenty of garage parking in that area.
With so much traffic in and out of the Tyson's hotels lately (I've walked into one recently and saw two different girls in the elevators from two different agencies, and actually walked past a moron in the lobby, on his phone calling the lady asking for a room number so loud I could hear from nearly 15ft away) I'd rather hobby in DC. Maybe once the construction in and around Tysons is finished I might soften up but driving in and out of that mess in the evening is for the birds.
I loathe Dupont Circle as well. . . until I find a convenient parking spot, then I love it.
My ATF once had an incall there and I used to hobby with new, young providers. Since then, my ATF retired and I changed my hobbying habit so I barely go down to Dupont anymore. Unless a 10/10 is visiting, I'm sticking with the burbs.
That said, weekends, such as Sunday mornings, are not that bad.
never thought about being in dc on the weekend for hobbying.
I suspect that weekend in Tysons or Bethesda is probably better.
Why come here for an extended visit -- Dupont on weekdays and Tysons on the weekend?
Still own a few properties in that area. Very upscale, especially Tysons 2.
As for Dupont... Yep, it is certainly a part of the BWI / Dupont / Tysons mix.. popular incall locations.
It's great for those who live there and work there, go there on a regular basis.
However, it sucks for people who live outside of city to get to. And fact of the matter is, there are many more people living outside in the burbs than in the city. Too much overhead involved, parking car at the kiss and ride, then each stop in the metro takes about a minute each. And there's always some thug looking bum screaming nonsense in the train which is mostly dirty and old. Run the risk of getting mugged especially when your dressed up and look like you got some cash on you.
Plus it costs money to park the car, buy a metro card, etc just to go to DuPont. Compare this to driving to Tysons or BWI (both of which are free parking) which only costs the gas which right now is like $3.
Sure it is "chump change" and it ain't nothing, but not for those who are thrifty. Some of us can afford to hobby a few times a week yet don't wish to add unnecessary expenses that obviously adds up over time.
Some would rather spend it busting it a nut.
Just imagine you have to go through all the hassle for a date. I could hop in my car ad drive there, or drive to the the metro station, stand around and wait. When I get there it could be a long walk. In the summer, I get hot and sticky; in the winter I have to endure the cold unless I wear my dorky coat.
I like Dupont Circle, I love to walk, and I like the Metro, but not for hobbying.
I just might try it ![]()
20 minutes from Tysons.
15 minutes from DC.
30 minutes from Baltimore.
Plenty of parking. Right off many main roads.
DuPont, Crystal City, Old Towne Alexandria are far more universally accessable.
easy to get to. I use Metro a lot & am in the city several times/week, so I'm quite happy for a Dupont Circle destination. For those of you who call it (or the entire city) a mess, look up the definition of mess in the dictionary & you will likely find a picture of the Tysons Corner construction--now there's a MESS! ![]()
very inconvenient for rest of the folks in the greater dc-metro area.
tysons is no different
which is why BWI rocks. no traffic, no mess, tons of parking, no stress.
shittier hotels with mostly 3 stars, some nice 4 stars,
but saves a lot of time in terms of finding parking, not having to buy a metro pass,
or be stuck in long traffic pulling out my hair and going postal.. lol
Are you suggesting that the drive to Baltimore from DC or NoVA isn't all of the above? I'm guessing you are local to the BWI/Inner Harbor area and in that case I totally understand where you are coming from. But to suggest that it is less difficult for a hobbyist in VA or DC to get to BWI than it is for someone to get into Dupont Circle from VA is crazy talk my friend and really puts out some wildly inaccurate information to providers who might be reading this thread and looking at where to stay.
To make things clear in the above scenario, and this is more generally speaking and not in any way, shape or form the way it always is but if you stay in BWI only, you will see folks in that area. As you can see from my friends point he is so firm about, if you stay only in DC there are gents who avoid it like the plague, and again the same is true for NoVA. I just wanted to get this out there and as the replies have shown you certainly have folks who are simply unwilling for whatever reason to visit the other areas but all 3 are still the greater DC market area and as such some ladies will stay in one area expecting more traffic and end up writing off the area as a result. I know ladies who do better in BWI than DC or NoVA, and vice versa so I'm not attempting to say one area is preferable to the other, my point here is proven by the replies to this thread that there are 3 main areas that make up the DC market and know that coming here for the first time it's divided up like this with hobbyist very opposed to some of the areas.
That would simply be absurd to expect a person in Tysons to go to BWI or a DC resident to go to BWI. It is obviously not what I was saying. Also, anybody who's been in the hobby knows very well that BWI / TYSONS / DC are the 3 major incall destinations... lets not repeat the obvious
However, strictly judging by convenience to the greatest possible audience, what may not be too obvious to a visiting provider is that a location situated between the BWI-DC corridor accommodates the "greatest" possible number.
Greater DC metro area which includes the Baltimore area has a population of 8.5 million.
The washington DC metro area has a population of 5.5 million.
DC itself has only around 600,000.
Guess which direction is easier to move? Certainly not inward toward DC. There are several major highway arteries connecting the DC-Baltimore area and multiple ways to get to from just about everywhere. For vast majority of people (read 8.5 million), it also costs less outside of DC than to go into downtown & try to scramble for a parking into a crowd of 600,000.
So, while I'm clearly not advocating people from DC to hobby in BWI, Jane-provider would accommodate the greatest possible audience by choosing the most neutral and central location to the BWI-DC corridor.
Of course, she should switch around a bit by going to DC and Tysons as well as downtown balitmore too in order to avoid using the same hotel too many times.
Again, it is convenient IF YOU ARE NEAR THERE.
Try driving from down town DC or NoVa to BWI in mid afternoon? I had to pick someone up at BWI mid week and it was almost 2 hrs from Georgetown to BWI and that was without an accident or any noteworthy construction.
Never said that BWI should be the top choice for all. I prefer Tysons myself when it comes to better hotels and easier drive, even though I don't live there any more.
However, the fact is that it costs more money for outsiders to get into DC than for DCers to get to BWI or Tysons.
BWI or Tysons doesn't cost anything to park your car.
Go to Dupont just a dozen times or so, the cost add up to the rate of seeing a provider for 1hr.
Plus read the rant above posted by someone regarding the not-so-wonderful experience he has taking the metro.
Yes, Dupont is also only convenient IF YOU ARE NEAR THERE but unlike other areas Dupont costs more money to get to, mostly requires metro ride with the thugs if not have to shell out $20 or so in parking, and it's too hot / cold / rainy walking around trying to find a hotel during specific weather conditions and climate.
It is an interesting area...easy to get to via metro...not so much by auto. I'll often metro in from Va [ will be good metro parking on weekends] and either walk to the rendezvous or hail a cab. I always enjoy the multiplicity of choices for a drink or bite to eat after I've worked up a thirst & appetite. Plus it is safer that most other areas Providers might roost. PM me if ya got any questions.
Some of my fondest hobbying memories are in Dupont but since I live within walking distance and metro is perfect its a win/win!
Taking the Metro, especially in the summer, gets me sweaty and stinky, not to mention the germs I pick up and carry to the provider's hotel room. I love to massage my crotch to improve circulation on my way to the ladies. On the train, I run the risk of getting arrested.
I live near Tyson's and I usually hobby there but I will admit the traffic sucks right now. Especially on rt 7. As for DuPont, I hobby during the late morning/early afternoon and never have a problem finding street parking during that time period. I do like the fact that the hotels in DuPont are busier and you are less conspicuous than in the Tyson's hotels.
Next question; which agencies are the most reliable. Which ones should i avoid?
