Capitol Hill...

and hangout at any of the bars there.  Plenty of places to shake your booty and have a few cocktails and meet some folks.

Adams morgan ....for something hipsterish....Georgetown for something fun upscale but casual...Dupont for in the middle... If you like karaoke look up harri karaoke...its live band karaoke and a blast! Otherwise the pub or jazz scene is really great almost anywhere you go around the city!

There's a whole strip of nice bars and restaurants near the Eastern Market metro, not far from where you are

Still not a whole lot worth eating or drinking near Capitol Hill == too many government types
