I'm just sick at reading about the Santa Barbara shooter. Here's a kid driving a beemer, resentful because he's a virgin, never had a piece of ass. So, he seeks retribution and kills at least six innocent people. Too bad we live in such a puritanical society that a kid, evidently with plenty of money, couldn't figure out how to have a good time. I've never heard of such a thing happening in any country where prostitution is legal.

but I don't think you could determine all of that from a few youtube videos. I think the young man was confused as to how the western world actually works. He may have thought he was jumping through all the appropriate hoops, in order to land him a gal pal, and was frustrated by doing so with lackluster results.

Since he ain't black I'm sure he could easily have seen a provider being younger than 35. Anyways, At age 22 getting a provider is shameful especially as a college student with a bunch of hot girls running around. A provider is not a status symbol because that's not a girl coming over with a key and hanging out. He'd be better off with a stripper mid day that did extra for the lap dance price. I doubt he wanted to deal with "ugly" girls that required the same effort as the "hot" girls so he had less options. Anyways you have to change your social circles at times to get a woman you find attractive. He needed to be comfortable enough to step away from college educated women or girls that have similar wealth. Asking for brains, beauty, and wealth is too much...you have to lower to no more than 2 of those qualities
Guess what, we all live in a society with boundaries on our behavior, both from social norms and the law itself, and we don't always get what we want - but we don't all go off killing people when presented with life's challenges. If it wasn't an issue about women that set him off, it would have been something else eventually IMO. Blaming a "puritanical society," even in any small way for what this guy did is very misplaced. A provider visit wouldn't suddenly make him a well-adjusted peach of a guy.
He probably had a hatred of people in general. If you watch the videos, he hates the guys who get what they want just as much as the women who didnt give him what he wanted. As someone with a brother with Aspergers, I know first hand how jokes will go over their heads and they will completely misread social cues, and become irrationally angry. Combined this with the fact that he was from a wealthy family and used to getting what he wanted, it's not a shock this happened. He was a nut, but nothing about this situation surprises me--a person in his situation could never be happy.

I agree with Alyson. A reasonably good looking guy from a well-off Hollywood family who can't get a girl to go all of the way with him is someone with severe social problems. He thinks he is a perfect gentleman and he can't even get a girl to take his virginity? Who knows how much the video is pose rather than reality, but it is repellent enough. And to him, of course, being a perfect gentleman is consistent with gunning down women on the street.

This guy hated men just as much as women. He hated hedonists, good looking people, and anyone who overlooked, mistreated or rejected him. Maybe because he came from a well to do family, he had a sense of entitlement. When that did not materialize and his patience ran out, he went on a rampage.
I do believe he was too proud to pay for affection and sex, although he could afford it. The idea of someone with his bloated ego having to stoop to the level of a John driving around picking up streetwalkers just does not register. So there I agree with you Alyson. That guy wanted more than a loving girlfriend . He wanted to be admired, desired, envied and wanted to forcefully obtain it if not given freely.
I'm not sure your last statement is fully justified -- but I would not find any fault with any provider that refused a client with such an attitude towards women that this poor boy expressed. It could be a few sessions with a quality providers and he'd forget all the dream girls he was so upset about.
I'm not sure that it's purely about sex and getting the women he wanted, though clearly that was a big issue for him (but at 22 I get that it's an issue for males, being one myself and having lived through that period of life not a active or comfortable with the opposite sex as I assume my friends were). Seems to me this is really about insecurity and an inferiority complex along with some mental disorder (largely sociopathic I would think) where he doesn't have the ability to understand other people's emotional position. I think I'm speaking the realest... He cared too much and it ate away at him. Dude was a college student and I ain't far removed myself. College girls at major universities tend to like douchebag frat boys...especially the hot sorority chicks. I don't know where this hatred of women agenda being pushed is coming from. He needed the top of line college chick...when college makes girls top of line already. If he was at community college or dealt with non college girls they would like what he brought to the table as it would be unique...he was just another rich kid at UC aka nothing special.
