Hi all, what's the protocol for when a provider cancels an encounter?  John schedules a 2-hour meet, drives over an hour or so for rendezvous and 15 min prior to arrival provider cancels.  Providers have cancellation/no-show, reschedule fees...

generally, or I should say, I do, since I can only speak for myself, would give you a free session, if you drove 1 hour. and I canceled 15 minutes prior.  I would feel like I owed you, at least that.  Sorry that it happened to you though.

The providers have several rules and penalties if/ when John cancels on them at the last minute. When the provider cancels its no big deal and they are on to the next person. That person may have been planning for days, weeks, or longer for that appointment. Doesn't seem fair but what can you do.

So sorry that that has happened to you.  Things do happen but 15 minutes prior to meeting seems outrageous.  Try to take solace that it could have been for your own protection...we do not know.  I would wait to hear back from her and then contact her to see what's up.

Yes, planned several days ahead of time, took off from work early too.

Only response was "look for her to return"...ha!  

I had scheduled with a very well known and highly reviewed provider several years ago. I was parked across the street from her hotel when I saw her exiting with another gent. Needless to say I was unable to reach her by phone until the next day. At this point she apologized profusely and then offered me two hours free. Turned out to be a wonderful session including a phone call to one of my favorites who also happens to be a good friend of hers. I'm not saying this is the norm but it sure turned out for the best.

That would be nice but I'm not holding my breath.  It's good to see different responses.  We see what's put out there mainly from the provider perspective, and I've even seen a few where they say if you don't show they'll blacklist you.  I try my best to deal with upscale, greatly reviewed, as was this one.  It could be that she had something legitamely come up but nonetheless I put a lot of effort into preppping and traveling.

Well if you do this hobby any length of time, you will be cancelled on or NoShow/NoCall.  I have had it happen several times over the years. It is best to move on quickly and not dwell on it.  

Like your story, I had flown into Florida and I drove about an hour west to Pensacola to meet a Very well reviewed lady that had checked my references. However, when I showed up to the location. Silence. The next day, I get an email that I am to be blacklisted for no-showing.  I told her to check her texts and emails that I had sent asking why she was not responding. 15 mins later, she appologized, when she realized her hobby phone was dead. I still hooked up with her that following day. For my one hour donation and a promise not to put anything in a review, I got the best 4 hour party I could ever expect.  She was an Indy and had control of her time.

Then there was the Agency, that sent me to a hotel. Took 30 mins of travel and traffic. I had swallowed a $20 blue pill and had taken my birthday off from work (a vacation day). 15 mins after my appt. I am still sitting in the parking lot wondering where the text with the room number is. 30 mins later, I get a text saying she is running late. 45 mins later - the next text says there is a problem and to hold on. An hour later, I get told the provider slipped on ice, broke her phone, twisted her ankle and is in the Emergency room. For that adventure, I got compensated for an extra free 30 mins with a different provider several days later.  

Expect nothing and you may get surprised.  Expect something and you will be disappointed.
