Hi there from your friend in Boston!

I am considering beginning touring and may start in Washington DC because I have heard such good things, but I know nothing about the city nor about touring so I am hoping you all may be able to give me some advice.

Where should I go if I do, in fact, move forward with this -- Downtown or Tysons Corner?

Are there any particularly nice hotels that my provider friends out there might recommend in either area?  

For providers who have toured/worked in both cities, are there any major differences between the two?

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated since I am still new to this world.
