When I read that article yesterday I just shook my head. This county spends a disproportionate amount of resources on the hobby (according to another article they pay about ten officers to surf the Internet 40 hours a week looking at escort ads) and they wonder what the problem is.

They should be THANKING us. Is there a math wiz in the house??? How much money do we(escorts) spend on hotels, work supplies and advertising per year as a whole...I mean the whole country, all of the escorts. Working about 3 days a week I spend about 45K a year on hotels, work supplies, travel and advertising and I dont splurge. Multiply that by the number of escorts who work part time or full time...a lot of money! This is a HUGE industry and we spend a lot of money. Lets be honest while we're at it. Most escorts arent saving so the money we make is going right back to the economy.

I have a friend, well was friend for many years, but not spoken for a long time. He was a cop and did go out and see escorts on the side. He was married and had kids, but still would hobby. I asked him why and he said I"m a man first.
1) One or more folks with good political connections, perhaps spouses or ex spouses of clients, are POed at some particular providers and want some revenge.
2) A desire on the part of some officials to put the damper on things, perhaps by rolling up some clients too.
3) Some indiscretion in marketing and business practices (think SOBE among others) which just draws too much attention.
Put all three together with an election year and it makes the roll one side over on the other strategy more feasible.
The first defense is discretion and not letting ego get away with you. Of course it is stupid that MoCo wastes resources in this way. But if you attract too much attention from folks who have the power and influence to waste resources, they might just do that to make a point. Piss someone off enough and they won't act rationally, that's no surprise.
At least that's what I hear from the folks who watch my back.
