John, trick, hooker, prostitute, etc
They are all just words but they are tacky and rude.
What the point in using them when you can use a more pleasant one?
A prostitute provides sex for money PERIOD...dont you think providers now a days provide just a tad bit more than a business transaction and physical act?
If not, your're seeing the wrong ladies

I don't use the word hooker. I stick to 'provider' or 'escort'.

Hello there? Here's a question for YOU. Do you prefer to think of yourself as a hobbyist or would you be put off by being called a John? Hmmmm?

It reminds me of building models with rubber cement.

"John" is better but it is still an euphemism. Is there a word for a prostitute's client?

As long as you are letting me hit that pussy, I don't care what you call me :)

But gotta ask.  Why such a question?  Why take it to multiple boards?  Is this important to you or what?   Do you prefer to be refered to as an eccentric...or a creep?  Just wondering.

I have no problem with "hobbyist," because it is just a hobby.  I mean, "sportfucker" would be more accurate, but doesn't sound as nice.

I'm also fine with "punter," since I'm kind of a anglophile.

. . . it makes sense that there's not a proper term for "John."

A prostitute is a profession, as in an attorney. Those who use their service are clients.

Seriously, I do not care if a guy calls me any of the above mentioned names.  As long as it is said with a smile and kindness, why should it bother me?  I am a whore and I am proud of it.  Yes.  Escort or Provider sounds so much better.  But we are what we are.  I am not concerned about what label someone chooses to give what I do.  Because in the end, it all means the same thing.

I have read the responses and this has been a irritation for me, when someone knows what I do and calls me a prostitute or whore ... I prefer escort or provider ... I love what I do so I take each and every encounter to the maximum and make it fun for everyone  ...

John ..  OMG what if your name is John LOL ...

Mike!!! OMG that is hilarious ...

talk about mental masturbation. it's down to a science here. now here's the bad news. people, we're all whores, what title you attach to it is academic, meaningless. now the good news, it doesn't make you a bad person. so rock on  :) i'm a middle aged guy in the business world and have been called a whore thousands of times and each time i like it a little more.

I don't like hooker because that name was given to prostitutes who worked outside in an area in New York back in I think the 1930's...(Saw it one the history channel). They were called hookers because the name of the area they were known to hang out was called hookers something or other... I can't remember the exact name of the area.
But I agree with the previous post...you can call me whatever.... as long as you pay me and respect me as a human, cause I know who I am and so do my friends, family, and God...and that's what matters the most....

Technically, that would be the correct term, but I choose to call my clients friends.

It all depends on who it's coming from and in what context. I've been called an ass-licking cum-slut during a session and it was a real turn on! But if someone is trying to insult me by calling me a whore or a prostitute, well that's something different entirely. But what do I say to that? Yes, that's right - because sluts get laid and ho's get paid!

How about you not call me anything and we just fuck? After all isn't that what it's all about?

Usually when I hear someone refer to girls as a ho/whore is usually by another provider joking around but being serious. The names in a sense though technically are the same thing are more about class. Hooker, prostitute, provider (I prefer), escort (I prefer), and courtesan all get paid to play but the type of experiences they give is sometimes different.
