Lots of choices! One of my favorites is Zaytinya. There are also some great steakhouses in the area, but I tend to like small plates and options of lots of different flavors. Check it out!
Jose Andres restaurants — DC is a Jose city. Oyamel, Zaytinya, Jaleo are fantastic! If you're looking for burger and fries there is of course a Shake Shack right by the Spy Museum. Some other good spots downtown include: Del Campo, Acadiana — must get the oysters there, Brasserie Beck does a great brunch, Matchbox — great local pizza chain.
Have you ever had Falafel? www.falafelshop.com/ has in shop fresh made fare and omg delicious spicy jalapeno something, maybe chutney? Very fresh. Does not cure hangovers.
My ex-gf really liked the empanadas @ www.micubacafe.com I like their sopa but the beans were bien simple. Our place before this was Julias empanadas, which my other ex & I would go to before HacDC meets. They closed, but there is another location in Adams Morgan, which is how we found Amsterdam Falafel!
