That's what I do. Have it to your ear and say something like "Yea, we're gonna meet in about an hour. There's a good restaurant real close where we're all going to meet up..." whatever. When you're "occupied" this way you have much less chance of being approached and you tend to blend in.
I had an appoinment to visit with a provider at a Tysons Corner Hotel. As I was walking through the lobby on my way to the elevator one of the staff befind the desk asked me who I was there to see. As I only knew the provider's first name I said it and made up her family name (needless to say her first name that I used was not really her first name!).I also told her what roon I was going to. The staff person walked to her computer and appeared to look up the name and room number that I gave. I just kept going and went upstairs. Has anyone had a similar experience and gotten stopped??
I for one usually find a way to stay clear of the registration desk.
Sometimes you can take elevators directly from the parking garage.
Sometimes the lobby is really big or the place is busy enough to just blend in.
Being dressed in biz casual, carrying a briefcase or such, and moving quickly and purposefully through the lobby to the elevators helps a lot.
Good to know the layout or pay very quick attention to the little signs that direct you to the elevators so you do not appear out of place...
I can re-confirm the notion that the cheapo chains cooperate with the LE.
Several years ago; After the session was about over someone starts banging the door and when we stayed quiet they(Law Enforcement) opened the door with a key; I later realized there was NO DOOR STOP from the inside. I'm sure it was missing on purpose.
It was actually a good session from a CL girl that had two reviews here on TER. Hot girl that did GREEK. The hotel was a cheapo on Route One in College Park.
Luckily for me, one of the vice cops/detectives were both stationed at a base in North Carolina. We didn't know each other, but we had that common bond.
He saw my old military ID in my wallet, quizzed me on the base and my military experience. Just took my name and address down and let me go. So relieved.
But I tell you what, seeing those guns locked and loaded kept me from hobbying via CL and in general for a few months. Just be careful out there people.
Just out of curiosity for the lawyers out there, what could of been the most likely worst case scenario? if he didn't take it easy on me?
I've never been stopped but I spend so much time in hotels for travel I guess I always just look like I belong.
There has been so much traffic through the same hotels in Tyson's lately this doesn't shock me. So many unused options out there with side doors or direct entrances to their internal bar that make for a perfect way to go into a place you have never been and not look out of sorts.
Frankly I am shocked that you replied.
You should have said something like "going to see a friend, have a good day" or "I don't think that's any of your business" or even just smile, waive and keep walking. To answer with the user name and a real room number could put a flag on the provider. The hotel doesn't have a right to question every person in the hotel, or every visitor. You don't have to act angry, but I would let them know that I am visiting MY friend, and anything else is not really their business. If someone denied you entrance then just leave, it would be better to leave anyway in that circumstance.
Be careful out there.

I have been keeping my eyes glued to my blackberry, but am going to try the talk to your imaginary friend. thanks for the tip.
Never been stopped or questioned personaly... but give the amount of "traffic" in tysons for this sort of thing I would not be surprised if management is begining to figure out what is going on...
Use the ole Secret agent mantality... think on your toes and blend in... look like you have a purpose and belong there... Generally hotel staff will only stop those that appear suspicious.
I would agree that providing a hotel room and any name then provides allot more info thanh I'm sure you care them to know or the lady whom you are about to see... Nothing worse than a knock on the door from hotel security (or worse... the pork) when you trying to finish the deed! If that happens you were the one that told them where you were going.. so shame on you!
As it stands there is no reason for hotel staff to stop anyone... nor do they have the right to... If they ask you leave the property that would be a different story and it would behoove you to comply but that would not likely happen unless you were a real prick (like me)! ![]()
STFU!!!!
A Hotel in Bethesda on Wisconsin Ave. did the same to me. It had a small parking garage just off the main street. I pulled in and parked. The Hotel manager was smoking a cigarette in the garage, next to the door to the hotel. He approached me immediately (11AM). Are you checkin in sir. I said no. Who are you here to see? I said I was taking a friend to lunch that was staying there. There was no avoiding this guy, he was in my face. He asked what room my friend was staying. I said I did not know (which was true, I was still waiting for the call back). I said I was going to wait in the lobby for my friend. He asked what my friends name was. I knew her name was an alias. He then told me I could not park at his hotel. I said to him, never mind. I pulled around the corner and parked. By this time I had the room number and walked in the front door, right to the elevator. What an ass! He freaked me out.
Reminds me of an experience in NYC after 911. My favorite agency of all time used to send these smoking hot providers down and there was one hotel in times square that actually had an employee at the elevators which were roped off.
Made for a very interesting experience...still enjoyed a great session though.
Did you have a wedding band/ring on ?
Because if this happened to a friend of mine coming to visit me, I would promptly move my ass somewhere else! And you better believe I would complain to the hotel management (probably end up with several free nights depending on how pissy I got), as well as backchannel the info to the ladies in the area.
I work in a hotel and have been working in one for years. I've seen a million providers go in and out my hotel and no body on my staff cares if your going in for a session so long as you don't disturb the other people staying there nothing will happen.
A google search does not turn up any Hotel Delema
The Hotel was one of the "Suites" type of hotel (no resturant or bar). I presume that this place is a 2 or 3 star hotel. There was little to no one in the lobby and there were hardly any cars in the parking lot (it was 1:00pm). I was dressed in a blazer and pants.Upon meeting the provider I told her exactly what had happened and what I said as I was quite sure that the name I had given did not match the one at the front desk!! I lost my wedding ring a few years ago so I wasn't wearing one!!
My point is, the staff at hotels (I guess )has an obligationto keep their guests safe and secure. If stopped I would sure like to have been able to use the name of the person to whom the room was registered. I have seen several providers at different hotels and this experience was a first for me. Maybe my lesson learned is that if a provider is staying at one of these Suite type hotels with no bar or resturant I should only go during the rush hour times of coming and going.
Thanks for your comments.
