Some of you may remember a little incident about two years ago...A very well known provider (who shall remain unnamed) here in the DC area suddenly quit.  Shortly thereafter, a rumor spread on the boards here that she had contracted HIV and had informed some of her clients.  Several board members reported saying that they had contacted her for appts and the response back was that she was leaving the business because she had contracted a 'horrible disease'.  

A board member came out and said he had more information.  The moderators here told him to set up an email account for those that wanted this information.  If you emailed that account, the response back was a copy of her email to him...stating that she had contracted HIV and was quitting.  

Now...there was a lot of speculation as to whether or not this rumor was even true.  I contacted her at the time and received no response at all.  A lot of people were legitimately freaked out and went and got tested. To my knowledge nobody came back positive.  

And now...she appears to be back, and you can find her ad on Eros.  I will not link to the ad...those that knew her will recognize the ad because it has the same photos she used. She's under a different name now, and has a (slightly) different number.  

Now, some people may say...well that may be just another provider using fake pics.  Maybe...but if you call the number, you get a voicemail and you can hear her voice, using the new name.  I am pretty confident it is her.  

So...either the rumor was complete and total bullshit...(which is what I believe) or we have a situation where a possible HIV provider is providing under a new name.  I doubt that...she wasn't that kind of person, and why use the same pics?  She has to assume people will recognize these pics.  

If it was total bullshit...well, I have to say I am a bit perturbed that she never came out to deny the rumors, or to ease anyone's concern about possibly being infected.  

I will not name her and nor should anyone else.  PMs asking for her name will be ignored, sorry...those who knew her will know exactly who I am talking about

One must hope that if it is her, that all the rumors were false.  However, if the rumors were true, she in no way, shape, or form, would the first, nor last, HIV+ provider to be working in DC.

I for one hope all was false and we see a post on TER from her as she use to post here and her reviews are still online, at lease I think they are.

As purely an intellectual exercise, ignoring the moral and legal  (MD. Code Ann., Health-General § 18-601.1  yes that was an imperfect legal example) implications she does have a Niche' marketing opportunity.

Let's accept the premise for a moment said person is HIV positive. Let also set the condition that no other infections have set in.  Being the out of the box thinker I am, if she insists in coming back in she could market herself exclusively to other HIV positive individuals.

The market  precedent has already been established with HSV and HIV dating sites. As far as I can tell MD does not have a must disclose law. The actual laws deal with the act of transmission. Therefore, as long as she does not infect a non infected person and sticks to other HIV positive people, she could have quite a market.

 
Ponder...ponder....ponder  Now the question becomes how to word it on a website and spin the inevitable social fallout and outrage. Plus I see escort directories not accepting her ads once they understand what is going on.

It should be noted that at no point did this provider ever come onto the TER boards to explain the situation or to dispel any rumors. She must have been well aware of the rumor going on, as several people had tried contacting her.  

Several board members received no response to emails to her, while others (not aliases btw) claimed they did hear back from her.  Some people said they spoke with her and she claimed it wasn't true, while others said that she told them she was indeed HIV+. It was all very confusing.  

Some of the ladies have some intel on this.  A provider friend of mine (who doesn't even live in DC but visits occasionally) had heard about the situation and said it was widely discussed amongst providers.  She said the theory amongst the providers was that this girl (who was married) had a prominent/well known husband (who was cool with her lifestyle) and that someone was threatening to out her publicly as a provider, and thus damage his reputation...so they concocted this crazy story to just "take her out" of the industry so that people would leave her alone.  Well, to me that is one fucked up way to do it and doesn't really make sense.  It is true that she was married, and wore a ring during the sessions.  

I had seen this girl about 4 or 5 times...and once about a month before she quit.  She would often contact me out of the blue and ask if I wanted to see her.  So...when I emailed her to ask about the situation at the time, and got no response I was surprised.  It didn't make sense that she would tell some people, and not others.  I asked if there was anything I needed to know. She was a nice girl and I figured she would respond to that and inform her clients to get tested. But never heard from her again.  Got tested at 3 months and 6 months and was clean.  

I have received a bunch of PMs about this, asking for her name...and I have to say again that I can't provide it.  I don't wish to "out" someone as HIV+ if that isn't the case. We should give her a chance to explain...I'm sure she is being contacted right now by former clients asking what is up...hopefully someone will convince her to post here.  She was hugely popular here and had a billion reviews.  If you knew her, then now you can see her ad...and her new site, and you can contact her directly if you want

I must say that I also disagree with the protection of this provider's identity, particularly since you have done the research and another, on this thread, is in concensus. If there are measures (ie identifying the provider) that can be taken to make our environment safer (for hobbiests and providers alike), is that not the most prudent thing to do?
Answering PM's seems sufficient for this if you are uncomfortable with identifying her here. Then again, if your hesitancy reprents the fact you are not confident with your assessment, holding back until there is more concensus seems prudent. Peace

It's understandable that you ask that.  

Reason is because I think some investigating needs to be done, and she should have a chance to clear her name before a witch hunt is started and people start attacking her who never even knew or saw her. I am not coming on here to announce that someone with HIV is now providing...simply that there was a huge rumor here about it, and she quit, and now she is back for whatever reason.  I also do not believe that she is the type of girl to have this disease and continue to provide. I feel that most people who knew her thought it was bullshit.  For sure I'm not allowed to name names on the board and am not going to respond to a billion PMs about it...so take it for what it's worth.  

The post was meant for those hobbyists that saw her (and trust me, there were MANY). I feel they have a right to know that she is back with a new identity

It seems pretty simple to me.  Her SO got bent out of shape about her providing, concocted this story, made her quit, wouldn't allow her to reply to anyone, took control of her affairs, could have potentially been abusive and now she's gotten rid of him and is back.  All speculation on my part, but a very easy scenario to have really happened.  

I've been in a similiar situation but he didn't make up any disease story on me.  I would say give her the benefit of the doubt and communicate!

I agree wholeheartedly. This post is of very little value as it stands. Those 'fortunate' enough to know the identity of the provider in question are advantaged...but this is hardly an egalitarian approach to the issue in question, which seemed to be the intent of the hobbiest initiating this post.  The larger group of hobbiests (and potentially providers) however,do not benefit at all from this information, which has very serious health concerns. Was this post intended only for those who might coincidently recall the provider, the story...and no one else?

While the OP's intent may have been to protect the lady in question, the majority of people who see the post don't know who she is and will not invest hours in backchannel research. A lot of gents will simply avoid the locals and regular visitors who have an Eros ad now - until they find out the identity of this lady or a long time passes and they forget and calm down.

It's not fair to the ladies who didn't do anything wrong and invested in traveling to DC and booking a room (which are at a premium now) to get cancellations and be passed on just 'to be on the safe side'.  

I don't think it's asking too much to expect a person who confirmed to many credible sources she was retiring due to being HIV+ to reach out to her former clients with explanation upon returning...

And she has stated that she is NOT HIV+ (and can prove it) and would never come back to the business if she were HIV+.   I previously posted her email to me, but it was deleted by the mods...so I can't post it here.  If you are interested in what she wrote then PM me.  

So, those that knew her may have the truth.  You can contact her yourself and I'm sure the response will be the same. Up to you to determine whether you want to see her again.    
 
For those that didn't know her, it doesn't matter now. If some of you thought I was doing some "disservice" to the community by NOT outing her over PM, then you did not get the point of the thread. To those that whined and told me "thanks for nothing"...you can go fuck yourselves.  I'm not here to provide a community service to everyone. My post was meant to inform old clients and to get to the bottom of an old rumor in which several people were involved.  I've had several conversations about it over PM with previous clients and this is what we decided to do - to inform her old clients through the boards. If it was determined that she was HIV+ and providing again, then a different course of action would have been taken, obviously.    
 
I never outed this girl and that was the RIGHT thing to do.  Otherwise we'd have a bunch of people sending her hate mail without knowing the facts.  That's not fair to her and she should have a chance to explain.  With her posting her old pics, it was bound to come up sooner or later on these boards. For me, the main questions have been answered and I am going to move on

IMO you've been honorable and beyond reproach.

Sadly I can imagine some of the complainers and whiners among her former clients hitting her up for an unnecessary testing rebate/discount.

We are talking about HIV positive here. If she cannot provide proof that she is not HIV positive, no former clients of hers would touch her with a 10-foot pole. I too emailed her about this situation. She told me she can provide proof but I have yet to receive it. She told me she needs time to think about her course of action. She also came up with some fishy explanation about some jilted client hacking into her email account and sending out emails that she was HIV positive. I even received a thank you reply after I sent her a condolence email. I saw her once in 2007 and got tested after I heard the 'rumor'. I like her as a person, but she needs to come clean for the community's safety.

I will give her a couple days before I reveal her identity in pm if she doesn't come clean

The "DC community" has a lot of very sour people who tend to increase heat while turning off the source of light. Excessive drama and paranoia on the client side, discourages "coming clean" with the community.

Actions have consequences. rant long and loud enough and folks will be disinclined to say anything.
