Hi i have never tour DC at all , so I'm not sure where to start to look as where to stay or what it's like to be there for like 4-5 day's are my normal tours
Areas ? Hotels ? Rates ? Other sites to use ? I mean I know the normal sites to be on, just not sure there are more ?
digdirkler thanks love ,, Looks like Tysons Coner & Dupont are the most propeller area's after I did some researching around The City area I would think be hard to get around in and as parking for guest but if your a city person you would know how to get around !
be my first visit so i'm just doing my home work... do a lot of the nice hotels have key cards to the elevator or a doorman ?
Not as familiar with Dupont hotels, but never visited one with key cards. Dupont is hard for parking, but probably good for daytime lunch break guys, and metro (our subway) access.
Tyson definitely has open lobbies and hotels. Tysons draws from a large Northern VA area, the wealthiest suburb.
Someone said National Harbor, which would seem geographically convenient, but I see few ads for there for whatever reason, and PG county is the most down market of the suburban counties. National Harbor itself is fairly nice but pretty mixed crowd with a good number of undesirable elements.
City Center and DuPont Circle (downtown DC) National Harbor (maryland) Reston and Tysons Corner (virginia)
National Harbor is the most convenient to patrons from Virginia, DC, and Maryland based on its location. Check out a map and search for the activities.
well I got my hotel and air tanker care of .. So I'm Off The White House lol .... thanks for all the help now the count down to Sept. just a little month away
Think of the DC area like the face of a clock. The beltway sort of forms a loop around the whole area. Tysons is right around 9pm on the dial. Dupont Circle is downtown, about ten or twelves blocks north of the White House. Probably hard to get around with a car, more cab and metro friendly.
I think Crystal City might be an option too. Crystal City is the area just west of National Airport - in Virginia but still very close to downtown DC.
I think Crystal City and Tysons will have more hotel options. If you have any questions about the area feel free to PM me.
Not sure about any sites that are especially popular with DC. I haven't found any, and lord knows I have been looking.
One place that gets overlooked a lot id Crystal City in Arlington. It is right next to National Airport so very convenient if you're flying in, there are lots of hotel options (2 Marriott's, Hilton, Hyatt, Courtyard, Westin, and more, has its own metro station & lots of underground parking, some of which is free after 4:00 PM and on weekends. Plus there are several food options within walking distance of most hotels so you could get along without paying for a rental car & parking while you are there.
so meany to pick from guess next time I will have a better clue , being my first tour here I'm going with what hotel area that has been talked about more and see the city some as well
