I was in a wide ranging conversation with a $250 provider last night in a $200 room in a 3 1/2 star Bethesda hotel. I noted there was not a fair yield in those economic terms but she told me it was better than it looked.  Thanks to Priceline she paid only $42 for the room!

Thank you William Shattner.

I have a hotel that if I get their Hotwire price they will subtract $7 from my next night(s) stay(s) if I cont. to book through them instead of the online sites which take 50% of the total.  So I pay around 50-70 for an otherwise $200 room.

when I travel and have to get a room, I use priceline to get a great 3.5 of 4 star hotel for $50 - $70.  The name your own price works very well. Check betterbidding.com and you can see what hotels are going for $$$. I usually know exactly what hotel I'm going to get.

Priceline has a kickass Iphone App. So now I can book on the go! A week after I downloaded the app they emailed me $25 off coupon for getting the app. Cool!

If you book on one of those bid sites that is not the hotel/brand website, make sure you watch the front desk when check in.

I caught the hotel clerk typing in my complete address in their computer when checking in. I told them give my drivers license back immediately and to not put the information in their computers.

I don't want marketing mail showing at home in the mailbox.
