I think that may be the greatest frustration of the DC crowd about the state of Eros; Eros don't seem to be doing any diligent quality control for ad integrity, just selling ads and letting the community sort out the chaos.
I suspect that one reason you may see a decline in numbers is that perhaps Eros has become their own worst enemy. The deteriorating state of the site is well known in the community and fewer site visitors and increasing user animosity may be making the site much less appealing to the ladies as a financially prudent place to put their advertising dollars. I could be wrong...
All the recent diatribes against Eros leave me scratching my head. I have been enjoying this hobby since 2004 and utilizing resources like TER and Eros the entire time. I have always been grateful that we are blessed with many wonderful local ladies and a steady stream of visitors.
I am afraid that the the current conditions on Eros reflect a changing market for us and perhaps this frustration with Eros demonstrates that we have failed to realize it. I have always paid attention to the numbers of All Female Escorts (215) and Visiting (79) on The Homepage. These are the numbers as I write this. Until this year those figures consistently ran in the vicinity of 300 for all escorts and 105 for Visiting. The only significant variation in these figures usually occurs between in the last week in December and the first two weeks of January when they would fall to 270 and 90.
I think that this significant decline in numbers only highlights the B&S and rip-off artists and elicits these attacks on Eros. They are only the medium, they can’t create a product when it is not available.
...but at least they can do a 30 second internet search to see if the photos for the submitted ads are lifted from the internet (as many are these days).
Eros is looking to make a profit; they don't exist primarily for the benefit of our community - and there's nothing wrong with that. But while letting so many fake ads through with lifted photos may be good for a short term profit, all they'll do long term is drive away the very community (both hobbyists and providers) whose presence they rely on.
