Why is everyone freaking out so bad? Is this really the worse snow storm ya' all have ever received???? I was planing to come to DC the beginning of next week. But I am starting to think I should come later in the week.... Anyone have any suggestions?

It's a whole lot of snow. And our beloved DC isn't equiped to handle it. My advice: come later in the week.

Yes, it is pretty bad now. 2feet plus.  Where are you coming from?

Probably not the worst ever, but there's about 3 feet in my neck of the woods.  It'll take a while to dig out, but by early next week we should be pretty functional.  Having said that, they're calling for more snow Tuesday/Wednesday.

By the time you get here i will have shoveled 25"(that's snow honey ;-))of this wonderful white stuff that you find lacking in formidability. :-(

I could use your help with any recouperation i may be requiring. :-D

U think 30inches of snow blizzard is little snow??

It took me an 2hrs of shoveled my area today and its coveled by dam snow already...LOL

Too dam tired...

Sure......come on and visit and enjoy this little snow that we're getting and bring some of that Phoenix and LA sun and warmth with you!

Good luck on getting on flight to land here though!

I would be very surprised if anything resembled normal come Monday

This really IS the worse snow storm we' all have ever received.

The previous record was the Knickerbocker storm of 1922 at 28 inches which we may well beat this time.

Plus, we in DC really are pussies when it comes to snow - if somebody sees a snowflake, the roads come to a halt, so you can imagine how we react when we see real snow.

When I lived in Maine.  It's one of the reasons I don't live there now.  This sucks out loud, I am tired of shoveling

Hello Everyone!

So I am going to attempt to answer some questions here, and reply :) I am from Jersey, moved to AZ when I was about 12 so I don't get to see snow often (living in AZ&CA) so all this is a little exciting for me. But at the moment I am currently in South Jersey, (so I will have NO PROBLEM getting to DC) and we have got about a foot of snow here right now. It's up to my knees! If I was on my knees I'd be buried in snow hahah Well it actually just stopped snowing a few minutes ago. But I assume it will start picking back up real soon again here. Honestly I thought DC Area got snow a lot apparently not much. Shows how much I pay attention to other cities weather forecast when I am not there lol Anywho... I REALLY appreciate all the replies and help letting me know what the weather is really like down there. I am sorry that you all are having the worst storm since 1922, maybe I can help some of you defrost once I arrive. And as it's looking right now I will not be canceling my fantastic voyage to DC just pushing it back to arriving Tuesday departing Thursday or Friday. Hopefully the roads will get cleared and all of you are able to un bury yourself from this storm. And for all of you who are able to unbury yourselves and would like to see me I will offer you a *SNOW SPECIAL* better than the one I already had planed for good ole snow cover DC.

Traffic and getting around is bad enought without any snow. With this kind of storm and the amount of snow were getting, I say come later, after it's cleared up a bit.

This morning i was out driving and was trying to help a nurse tryingh to get home got stuck and an oncoming car just waited until someone behind him finally went around him and us.  He had 4 wheel drive and I have front. The lady nurse had a small car.  I was glad I was able to help.
