Myths is the right word

You are right on myths in your first paragraph.

I don't know why anyone thinks that our entire board isn't being read by any police department that cares to do so. A month of VIP membership costs less than a fill-up for a police cruiser. As for references, they bust one guy with Ms. Hooker (I can't get over the fact that her last name is "Hooker" and she went into this line of work) or threaten to, and he becomes their verified client.

White envelopes, no talk about cash-for-services, etc. is a fig leaf at best. If they can convince a jury or judge that it is prostitution, the fact that you didn't put money in her hand and say, "will you f--- me for $250" doesn't matter. And of course, they can arrest you and drop the charges and leave it at that.

I think that the best policy is to: (i) avoid jurisdictions that go after prostitution aggressively; (ii) avoid BackPage girls or others who engage in high-risk behavior like being on BackPage; and (iii) see well-reviewed ladies who screen the hell out of you before seeing you.

See the below.  This biz, and this site are full of big myths about avoiding LEO: LE checks, 'roses', 'donations in envelopes not discussed', GFE, time and companionship euphamisms etc etc.  The standard cautionary response is that if you enter the room LE will put you in jail and charge you, the majority of the punishment right there prior to conviction.

Well the link below is for a new twist.  Cops called girls, only euphemism used was the super common phrase "hang out", and for one girl they NEVER EVEN MET. Yup, she got spooked and left, they pulled over her car and searched her, and the mere cell record of their contact and the 'hang out' verbiage exchanged was enough for this girl to get cuffed.   I know, I know, TER, only well reviewed etc, but its still good to know how very little is needed these days.  You don't need to show in the room, merely showing at the hotel and getting spooked and leaving IS ENOUGH!

Le does not always follow the rules.  They put folks in jail and judge drops the charges. Happened to my buddy in pg county.

The jurisdiction in question has a long history of bending rules, and stacking charges (or threatening to) against individuals, until they lawyer up, if they can.  They want to be grown up "Big City Police", but can't get over their country "Andy and Mayberry" methods, and means. Their strategy seems to be if you take the public defender, they got you, if you bring a gun to a gun fight they fold...

Hobby safe, and do you due diligence. I may not review much, but the VIP is well worth the lack of hassle when I do dip my toe into the water...

"Prostitution in Third Reich."
I read it .. now not under the hand to give you an author .. but .. all what you described  was practicing in 1935 by Nazis toward to  all women .. all women were  treated potential   prostitutes
and exactly same methods were  practicing  in Germany back then .. so  dear fellow Americans ..
Iam now citizen here .. yes .. but I would move out back to Europe as soon as my kids be in its own .. freedom  proclamation here in states  is failing to  function . on many many many levels .. but this one  is red flag for all society .. not just for women who sell sex .. soon they will stop your  sister and your daughter  if it will go that way ..
 Nazi on it s way  a ??
read the book and compare to practices here ..
 you be surprised .

None of that would have stuck had she just STFU, not given them permission to look through her car or her belongings...and asked to speak to an attorney...

a halfway competent attorney would get all of that tossed...without money exchanging hands it's hard to make an arrest stick...

All very sensible, but hiring a halfway competent attorney is effectively a fine just by itself. It also doesn't read as though these are ladies with a local attorney on call or who have a lot of margin financially.

Getting arrested, taken in to jail, etc. also has lots of other costs such as lost income, not to mention the humiliation. If they want to make it unpleasant for you to work in an area, they can. You can resist the pressure, but my I think it is better to leave than to try civil disobedience in defense of prostitution in a semi-rural outer-suburban county that still has some substantial roots in the old South.

Ladies (and men) should stick to jurisdictions with a more live-and-let-live attitude that focus prostitution enforcement where we all agree it belongs (trafficking and underage) or where the activity is indiscreet enough to annoy the neighbors or hotel management. If Joe, Maggie, and the kids on their Spring Break trip to DC aren't confronted with difficult-to-explain images or sounds in the hotel or the apartment building isn't disturbed by late night indiscreet visitors and the parking spaces taken up by visiting clients, I think DC and most close-in Virginia jurisdictions aren't going to go out of their way to move resources from robbery and narcotics to go after discreet escorts.

Fellow beloved americans
Iam now one of you - am citizen
and you know what I feel and see among you ?? what kind attitudes    you have - you gave up ..
 you are not free ..
