I have been with $$$$$ and $$$ providers each with the same menu items and generally the same stats. Quite frankly, I just cannot tell the difference. Granted, some Porn stars sell the fantasy of being with a porn star. So, my question is this: If a visiting provider offers $$$$$ in her home town goes to a town where most other providers offer $$$, why would she not set her rates near market rate or maybe even lower to draw more business? That is simple supply and demand economics. I write this because there are a few visiting providers I would love to see but they are priced beyond my budget. I am hoping some will take into consideration local market rates the next time they visit. If not, then I will have to hold a car wash or bake sale (LOL)

I would never bitch about rates
but rates that *I* as a consumer consider to be inapropriate for what I'm seeing in the pics and reading in the reviews will influence me to move on to an appearance/ performance / rate point that I am happy with.
Most top end providers will see no more than 2-3 guys a day. Others no more than 4 guys a day.
Lets do the math. How many guys call in to book appointment but are turned down because all the sessions are filled up ?
It comes down to supply and demand that determines the price.

If the $300 lady got 7 and 8 consistenly and the $500 lady got 9 and 10, then I would agree but that is not the case. I have seen reviews of $500 ladies with 7s. You do the math. And let's be civil. I have never called for anyone to kick you in your nuts.
This is not unusual. You can find the same product or service at many different prices on the Internet or in local shops. Some of the higher-priced sales occur because people are not as well informed or the buyers just did not want the hassle of shopping around.
If the women can continue to charge the higher rate she will. There are a number who have lowered their prices but they may decide to leave the business rather than work more cheaply. Don't get too upset. Someone could probably take your job at a lower rate too if it were possible.
Others travel up north to places like Philly to maintain there rates on a regular basis.
My very favorite ladies' rates run from 220-350 in this market.
some ladies are exceptionally attractive and tour major markets, and feel that they should pull down more. I've seen such ladies and enjoyed them. But did not have a 'better time' with them....
There is a lower point of diminishing returns with respect to appearance or exclusivity vis a vis performance....

Change their rates to match the area they are providing. If they don't change the rates, then They feel they will get the same amount of customers.
the ads rates have gone up considerably and there are lots of variables.
I usually have my rate according to mileage/menu.
But, when my costs were lowered I did lower my rates and if I was bored with the same type of client all the time. I lowered my rate to attract a younger crowd.
I used to have a show and it was under another name and was $500 an hour.
My first review was a 2 hour show.
I got a confused reviewer who wanted a $200 half hour show from one of my other ads and wanted the $1000 show under threat of bad review.
I actually had started that phone/website/add-all money I spent because I love guys from Chicago and the reviewer was from there and my reviews would show up there too.
So I met more Chi guys and was happy although I didn't appreciate the cock blocking attempts and drama from this website over it.
I had a paid website with godaddy.
I bought an new phone with a two year contract and paid ads on Eros just to work that angle and some people tried to deliberately interfere with it.
I ended up not even being available for all the business it brought me but it didn't work.
That alias had tons of business while I was getting the most criticism from this site.
Too bad I wasn't available for those calls.
Thankfully I supported myself off of it for a long time while I was out of the game.
Doing certain kinds of intensive activities are going to make a girl have to really limit how many they can see.
So the higher rate is justified.
One reason I went through a phase of raising my rates was due to the demanding nature of my clients. ( they were into what is called" sport...". Not water. Sport is the first part of the word,lol
I felt like if they wanted sooo much from me then they need to pay my rate for that much service.
The higher my rates the more tips I got.
I would be soo amazed at how generous ppl from this website can be.
Most ppl from this website always give me my old higher rate even when I have specials or lower my rate.
it is Econ 101. If buyer A will buy product X for 10 dollars but buyer B will buy product X for Y dollars, guess the price that seller of product X will set. If there are no bites 
at the higher price (i.e., demand is low), then price shall drop accordingly. That some prices of a commodity are consistently higher means that someone values that at that price.
Anyone paying $$$$$ and up for what sells for $$$ is nuts. Just my .02 worth...
It seems you feel you are entitled to see these visiting providers at lower rates and that's just not the case. You're not special.
When I first got into hobbying I too would see Ads of providers with rates well above market and my budget and my little head would say "damn, get a better job and/or more income so we can do that." The advertising provider would possess the exact physical traits I like yet she was priced out of my budget. I would then question HER (in my mind) and the rates she charged...huh?!?! She can charge whatever she wants. Its my, and ONLY my responsibility, to decide to pay or not. In my experience most high priced/VIP types price based on the standard "look" that's widely accepted as a "10." Which of course does not translate into performance. As a matter of fact it's been my experience that the more "10" they are the more they seem to just lay there or think their presence alone is sufficient.
I have on occassion visited with the higher priced providers and learned quickly that "the look" that got my juices going does not necessarily translate into performance and hence the price not worth it! Inevitably I would have that "ah, I coulda had a V8 moment" which simply means with the right research (TER and other similar resources) you can get the same and often times better performance and close to the same "look," if not the same look with market rate providers. The VIP provider is more an illusion then reality. I will give the VIP types I've seen credit for having a much better attitude with what they do.....which at the least they can have for the price.
IMHO, after you're seasoned abit more in the hobby you may evolve and settle in to this mind set, UNLESS, "the look" is your primary motivation and inspiration for hobbying. If it is then you need to get a better job.

Very nice thread. Economics has so many more variables than simply supply and demand. Not the least of which is risk. And, thought economic theories have been supported by various mathematical formula, charts, and graphs, at the end of the transaction it comes down to human behavior, which is certainly less than rational and not subject to mathematical or economic modeling. From the hobbyist perspective, we want what we want and we'll pay what we perceive it is worth. From the provider perspective, she'll charge consistent with her goals and perception of value. I find this the purest of economic transactions. For all else, who cares?
I've been struggling with these same problems for an upcoming trip to NYC. 6-700 per hour is common. I am carefully trying to find a balance between looks, performance, location, ease of verification, indy vs agency, and price point. Thankfully, TER will lead the way.
