1. I think it tells me the provider is more than likely young, under 30.
2. Its hard to precieve how the service will be based on colorfull ads.
3. No I don't view them lesser, or greater repspect.
4. I would say they can be effective, its mostly just to make the ad look different to catch's guys attention. How effective the ad is will depend on the quality of pictures of the provider.
5. They are not a turn on or turn off for me.
I will add how the ad is worded is important on this topic.
I don't need no stinking alias!! LOL
This is a spin off of db911 question below. Out of respect, I don't want to end up hijacking his thread .
When you see an ad or a provider website like this one:
http://dc.backpage.com/FemaleEscorts/ooh-la-la-oh-so-sexy-choctaw-indian-princess-19/3998946
... Full of loud animated graphics and over use of special characters not only in the title but the text.
What honest thoughts go through your mind ? Give us an insight or sample of your internal dialog.
Or answer these questions.
1) What is your perception of the provider ?
2) What is your perception of the kind of service you may receive ?
3) Do you view them with lessor, equal or greater amount of respect compared to other providers et al as a group?
4) In your view are these marketing tactics effective ?
5) Are they a turn on, turn off, neither or you don't care ?
I'd like honest answers "strictly in relation to the questions" above therefore, use of alias is encouraged.
I respectfully request, you stay on target as best you can in your answers.

I always think if you are going to go to those efforts, you might as well invest in a website. Something I always consider. 1 - does she have reviews 2 - does she have a website.
This sounds horrible, but any can post anything on BP. Having a page and showing creativity, shows a serious commitment. Normally that follows through to customer service.
You can always put lipstick on a pig as they say. Challenge is all the pics on the sites look hot. It is what is behind that count.

That's only because you're a true MAN of conviction..... or is it convicted ? *laugh*

When I encounter a website that springs loud music on you or has overly busy and confusing graphics I just think poor marketing and lack of understanding of her client pool. She has created a website that many will only visit ONCE.
The hobbying demographic may only have a limit amount of time to review information upon which choices are made. And increasingly we may be doing it on a smart phone for added convenience and discretion. Ex: I do much of my stuff on my Android while sitting in my office.
The best websites are clear, simple, and to the point. This can be achieve while being elegant and enticing.
1) likely young and/or not established
2) i don't make any preconceptions until i search reviews, but tend to view backpage ads w/o TER or other confirmation as suspicious at best - there's some reason they're on backpage and not anywhere else
3) lesser - with TER reviewed providers as baseline (especially with multiple ads over a short period of time and/or music in the ad)
4) to get my attenton when browsing in "full" mode, yes, but if the visual main dish isn't good i won't stay past the flashy appetizer
5) i don't really care...i figure it's to get attention
what annoys me more than flashy ads is embedded music - i won't see anyone with an embedded playlist (ESPECIALLY that damn Melanie Fiona song) on principle
heinous
Answers below... The danger is that I will just leave the site and never check her out. I admit that I am a bit extreme in my tastes for web design. I love the Shaker ethic of simplicity, and less is more. Perfection of some thing is attained when your remove everything possible while retaining the true utility of that thing. I am also a bit of a Luddite at heart (not a stretch given the above).
That said, I have seen some sites with blogs and graphics and music that made me feel like I was getting a sense of the lady, and what she might be like in person. However, THAT is VERY rare.
1) What is your perception of the provider ?
Neutral
2) What is your perception of the kind of service you may receive ?
Perception isn't affected either way
3) Do you view them with lessor, equal or greater amount of respect compared to other providers et al as a group?
Less
4) In your view are these marketing tactics effective ?
Absolutely not
5) Are they a turn on, turn off, neither or you don't care ?
I am annoyed as shit
Sorry about the double post, but more than any html/graphics spew the two things that annoy me are music embedded in the site (if I wanted to listen to something, I'd already have something i like playing in itunes) and thumbnails that expand into thumbnails. maximum megapixel cameras are cheap, please don't shrink the pictures down so much that I can't see any details in a pic (oddly this issue seems to affect the higher end of the market more than the lower). I don't care if you pixelate, fuzz, or blur for discretion, but let me see whatever isn't censored in a decent resolution, even something like 800x600 or so.
My answers reflect my opinion (right or wrong) and are in no way intended to offend anyone.
1) Young, unsubtle, inauthentic, it suggests overcompensation for something
2) I'd expect below average service
3) I'd view with lessor value and respect
4) To some it may be effective but not to me
5) To me this type of marketing is a turn off
An ad or website is my first impression and a direct reflection of a provider/agency. If it looks tasteful, classy and professional then I'll explore it further (check reviews, rates, etc...). If it looks cheesy then I'll pass and continue looking for the former. Hope my answers help and happy hobbying!
IMHO, her add would be attractive to women, not men. I'm not interested in rainbow and pink writing, butterflies and dragonflies. Too much movement. Need just the facts, ma'am, hot pics, and links to reviews, website, etc.
To be specific:
1. Young, and spent too much time building the page.
2. YMMV.
3. Less respect.
4. Ineffective if trying to attract men.
5. Would not even scroll down the page. Next!
I can recall at least 4 times this month where you are *sitting back laughing* while judging other providers pics, websites, names and now graphics.
Dude, how about we put the quality and style of your pics and site on blast?
This provider may very well get a good response from her ads. Some men may be attracted to the cute style. It looks like a young college girl who probably decorates her notebooks still.
Cute and its her style.
"Dude, how about we put the quality and style of your pics and site on blast?"
How about we watch paint dry.

ROFL. Jabba has a unique way of advertising.

I don't have a problem with THIS... But I don't like the music (especially when you are trying to be discrete) and I don't like 1000 pictures taking up most of the page. A handful is fine.
I'm young but go back to the era of lynx as the browser, can't stand graphics like that. I like creative text play, I still like ascii art.
1. That image seems a little too ghetto fabulous, so I'd be quite concerned that the pictures/description won't match the provider.
2. I'd expect a little drama.
3. I'd view her less respectfully.
4. Well they are eye catching, if there are sounds though, I don't even finish reading the ad.
5. Maybe turn off, this one's harder, because if I over came my initial reservations (she'd have to have several good reviews) perhaps she's got a cute personality which could be a turn on.
If the flashing gif mafia wants to come get me, I guess I'll let them.
1) What is your perception of the provider ?
-That she is gorgeous, but why distract me with the graphics?
2) What is your perception of the kind of service you may receive ?
-Less than serious service, or otherwise "layered" service, precisely b/c the site is layered in its presentation
3) Do you view them with lessor, equal or greater amount of respect compared to other providers et al as a group?
-Lesser
4) In your view are these marketing tactics effective ?
- No.
5) Are they a turn on, turn off, neither or you don't care ?
- A turn off; I simply want a site that gives me high-rez, low-edit views of women with whom I might want to relate...
