Today I took a little jog down memory lane. Actually, I went to exercise and ran around the Dupont Circle/Woodley Park area. It got sort of comical, as I noticed how many places I’d been to for hobby purposes. In one particular block, I’d been to all three hotels. I reminisced about who I’d seen in each of them. As I went by a coffee shop, I remembered hanging out there when I arrived too early for my appointment. Then there was the bookstore I browsed through killing time on a different occasion. Ah, the liquor store where I bought a bottle of wine to share with a lady once. I bought some pastries and orange juice at the shop over there when having a morning wake-me-up appointment. I passed the sites of a couple social functions and restaurants where I’d had chats with hobby buddies over dinner.

I’m glad I got out this morning and got my exercise. My legs are a little sore, and will be more so tomorrow. But it isn’t my favorite workout. I’d rather do that more horizontally, in the company of a nice lady. That way, I can also make some new landmarks for future jogs down memory lane.

Great thoughts, as we've all had them.  I was driving near Dulles the other day and passed a place I had enjoyed with a nice lady.  Of course, in my mind I traveled back to those memories and just snapped out of it fast enough to avoid rear-ending a dump truck ... lol.  Better to have those memories while jogging, just be careful crossing the streets.

This is all so true. I can't go by 2000 Conn ave without remembering the great times spent with a ATF there. It is also ironic how many DC hotels I have visited and now know my way in and out, waiting areas, coffee shops, etc...its one way to get to know the area real well!

Thanks for sharing those thoughts.   It is amazing how as you travel you pass a location and immediately you remember time spent with a particular lady.  If you do this for a few years you end up in a lot of different places.

I have sometimes gone somewhere with someone (family, work, friend, etc) to a location that I had visit for the  hobby and have to catch mysef from saying -"Oh, I have been on this road, to this hotel, etc" to avoid the question of "Why?".

It is a fun way to remember hobby experiences.
