How active is Fairfax County LE?  I'm especially interested in the PV agencies in Northern Virginia as I have become fond of visiting them.  Although I know there are never any guarantees, I would imagine that LE would concentrate on busting the FS agencies and/or the indies and not really bother with the PV places unless they got some complaints about suspicious activity.  I would visit more often if I felt the risk were minimal.

It matters not the services offered so much as how noticable and prevalent the business is... The more traffic one has the more open they are to scrutiny from LE. The good folks in the law enforcement comunity could likely care less about what we do as hobbiest except for when they must act...

Large compaints or blantant disregard for discretion are probbably the biggest reasons to attract a bust. If LE wants you... they're going to get you. I am likely opening myself up to get flamed for this but LE tends to generally concentrate on Agencies and AMP's since they acn usually substantiate a bust of more than one person and the expenditure of manpower. For an indie it's almost not worth the effort.. it requires 10's if not 100's of thousands of dollars to make a case and eventually make an arrest. Obviously not a career maker but you never knwo when you'll get an overambisious LE representative out to make a name for themselves.

Indies would only attract attention from LE for a few reasons in my mind... 1) high profile clients... i.e. actors, politicians. 2) lack of regard for discretion. 3) flaunting excessive amounts of cash and not paying Unlce Sam. The last of which is probably the most likely to get someone in truoble.

I follow a very strict rule of avoiding agencies... It only takes one person to bring one down and it puts everyone involved with them at risk! While I have partaken of agencies in the past it is something I no longer do and advise anyone who asks to do the same. It is not my busniess to tell others what to say or do and I am not knocking any particular agency so I hope no one takes offense.

You are correct on the info you just provided. Throughout the years of traveling and living in different states I pay close attention to all the boards and what is going on locally in whatever area I am in and usually yes the agencies that are not discreet and careful usually do get the most attention from LE.  In one of the states I lived in they shut alot of them down and they did it quick. Furthermore, with independents the other reason for them to target the gals is if they are involved with drugs (the only thing you didn't add so I thought I would chime in). Have read about this alot in different states (especially Florida)and instead of LE just targeting for a misdeameanor it's more beneficial time wise etc for them to have 2 counts instead of just one against the independent. I think you nailed it on the head with your response. No flaming here when it comes to facts.
