Most put that in because they expect most of the people who make the appointment, set their schedule and spend the time getting to the location will succumb to the sunk cost fallacy stay rather than leave. The chances they will make a scene, putting themself at risk just to try making you stay are pretty slim.

I have yet to see or hear of anyone that made a scene. They have just as much if not more to hide from and if its at a hotel (unless its some kind of dumpy $60 motel then maybe). The very first provider I met offered me the same thing in a way by saying if she didn't look like her pictures I was free to leave no hard feelings and she was exactly like and what her pictures and description said.
