In my 8 years on TER I don't think I've ever posted an ISO. I rarely use the search function. Perusing Eros ads, TER ads, and TER reviews regularly gives me an idea of who's available. That does not mean that everyone should do that. ISO posts does not bother me; the whining that follows actually entertains me

So, there are a few of you that spend so much time whining about ISO posts.  I'd like to make a few points:

1 - Some say ISO posts take up board bandwidth.  Those same persons then make it a point to post negatively on most every ISO post.  I see this as the pot calling the kettle black.

2 - Some say, use the search function.  Well with that logic, why does a lady even need to post an ad.  I mean she should just get all of her business from being found via the search function right?

3 - Personally I find it quite amusing that those few of you (and you know who you are) exert so much energy complaining about this, not just here but on the Review Only board too.  Talk about not having a life.

4 - As far as I know and I could be wrong here, as I must admit, I didn't exert half the energy you probably have on this subject, there aren't any TER rules that prohibit ISO posts.

5 - I find myself wanting to post ISO posts just to upset you LOL, but don't want to lead the nice ladies astray.  I must admit though, every time I see one, I get giddy and laugh cause I know it bothers a few of you so much.

6 - I just want to say, I've done ISO posts and have had some spectacular times because of them.  Two in particular resulted in my best ever appointments.

The above are solely my opinions and I look forward to the negative posts.  They truly will make my day.  So what do you say, make me happy will ya.

Yes I've read that. I don't think I totally agree with it either. I think it's the ISO posts which smack of the " I can be bothered.." is the issue.

2)  Apples and  hand grenades.  The ad board for the express purpose of marketing. A search, is a function of parsing data, the two concepts not even in the same universe.  Sites like escortservicefinder.com we're base upon the very business model you state and  it didn't work out so well (NOT around anymore).

3) I can't speak for the RO board members but I'll have you know between running an agency and collecting my "Hello Kitty" figurines, I have a life! Heck I even had a date once.....

4)  True.

"In Search Of posts should be posted on the ISO board, Porn Stars board, the Transsexual board or the Regional board.  Providers, any response to an ISO,  must include a link to either your personal website, your TER review profile, or directly to your ad on an escort mall.   "

5) It wouldn't work, you have like 33 reviews which says... "I've contributed to the community " so you get judge by a different standard.

6) I'm sure you have you lucky stiff.  However you have demonstrated "you're smarter than the average Bear !"

I basically agree with you. A lot of people do. We simply don't see the need to devote so much time to something so relatively unimportant. Some of the whiners are those who seem to have made TER their lives. In order to give themselves a sense of self-importance, they have an obsessive need to point out what they consider flaws in others. I must admit that I have my own obsession: I can't fathom the horrible English grammar from some posters. I do not point it out because that, too, would be giving inordinate importance to something fairly minor. Plus, I would look like a pedantic ass, just the way the ISO whiners do.

I completely agree and do not understand why these people get so upset. Especially when I don't think they even understand what the purpose of ISO posts are. They seem to think these are hobbyists asking other hobbyists for advise. What I always thought of them was hobbyists looking for provides who were available and met their requirements. If you use the search function you'll find 20 provides all of whom might be busy, out of town, retired, dead, or simply unwilling to see you. Why do that when one post will result in you perfect match contacting you? The providers win, the hobbyists win. The on
Y people who don't seem to win are these whiners on the boards who are secondary to the transaction anyway.

Thing is strickly through research. If an Indy ain't available you can fall back on an agency or maybe shoot a last minute email to an Indy. You should have a list ahead of time unless you got some specialty taste.

Honestly before I got started I had an agency lined up and newbie friendly girls on the verified sites listed.

you learn to search once you read the boards, lol. Always read first is the key people forget.

I started looking up strip club reviews on other sites when I was like 19....so i assume i could find the same once i got to other things.  once i learned about massage parlors (thought he was lying at the time) from a buddy in college damn near a decade ago....i checked usasexguide and they were about research. Once roaming on USG i learned about backpages and researched things on google which lead me here. Once i got here I knew to read and found about agencies, verification sites etc before my first post.

I started from the bottom so I know how to go about these things. I think you need to start with strip clubs and checking out reviews (become a connoisseur of entertainment) of the clubs before you can step up to this board. I feel like you should pay your dues, lol.  I went in order...I mean I  went strip club, massage parlor, private view, then professional. took me 5-6 years to get the understanding cause I searched for info at each level which ultimately lead me here at the Private View level.

The vast majority of the ones I've seen (on the DC board at least) boil down to "I don't have reviews but I'm looking for an escort", or "I have reviews and I'm looking for [insert criteria that is available through a search function]". The former almost never receives responses (except to point out the obvious), the latter sometimes does but it still comes across as "I'm too lazy, you guys do the work for me".

There's definitely a valid purpose to them, like if a guy wants to know of any girls that are available for an entire weekend, or a trip somewhere, short term notice, or they have special requests that aren't available through searching on their own (pregnant, lactating, doubles currently available).

This is a different environment than other review sites for normal businesses. Reviews on Yelp and the Google Maps details get a lot of negative responses because those are the people most likely to write a review. The vast majority of people who had a good meal or decent service never think to share that, but if something goes wrong, they feel compelled to tell everyone. Not so much here, you can definitely see patterns like when numbers start to decline or reviews stop for several months.

Honestly most of the ISO posts seem pointless because they're asking for the opinions of anonymous responders, when the alternative is to search on their own to read reviews... submitted by the same anonymous responders. The only difference is who's doing the legwork.
