Porn was my highly inadequate outlet for for what was missing in my decades-long marriage before I found the hobby. I think that both have their place. I've always thought that porn fell into 3 categories: (1) stimulating, (2) boring, or (3) disgusting. Obviously, I try to avoid the latter two categories.
Porn is generally less expensive and safer, but less satisfying. I prefer the connection with a good provider. It's not just about sex.
That said, combining the two--which I have never done--could be hot. Watching high quality porn with an enthusiastic, high quality provider might be doubly good.

I'm enjoying this thoughtful discussion. For me an important element is financial. If I coold be with a provider every time I get the urge that would be heaven...and I'd be broke. Porn led me to the hobby as I desired something real not vicarious. And porn fills in the spaces. I do worry that too much porn dulls one's response to the real thing. I try to take a week off before seeing a provider.
