I’m curious if there are any legit sites for casual encounters, ideally free ones, where you can meet (older ladies fine too) and potentially hook up and talk, etc. Looking for something that is not a dating site as I don’t have time for that and have other personal relationship commitments.

Best you can do are dating sites. And it's a lot of work. If you're  trying to get laid without paying for it you're gonna have to put in work, there's no shortcut.

Just google "adult dating". Unfortunately, most of the women on these sites are plain-looking if not ugly. A lot of them are in their 40s and 50s. You can just go to a bar and pick them up without going through the trouble. Unless you are good-looking and have game, you will have to pay for the young and good-looking ones.

To be fair, there are "dating" sites that are specific to getting laid. He and the rest of us already know a couple of them. It'd be hard not to.

Yes are 100% correct.  I found out that some of them have providers fronting as civies.  They come to your hotel room ans ask for a $100 babysitting fee. Or they message and say "that will cost you".  

There are still plenty of reasonable prices in the DC area.

I found AM to be a total scam a few years ago. A lot of bots that message you trying to get you to respond - because you have to pay to respond. I never got anywhere there. I'm sure you can make some headway but it would probably take a lot of time.

It's understandable. There are two threads where each of my replies go into the hopper for a few hours. But random checks; I don't know how they couldn't. It'd be the Wild West. There may be a few gems hidden among the garbage, but all are overwhelmingly dominated by scam artists and sometimes blackmailers. My brief experience with Adult Friend Finders was 100% scam apart from one blackmailer. Seeking used to have some interesting people (5+ years ago) but is now all scam artists during the brief time that I rejoined. If someone opened a new site without scam artists, I doubt if it would take them more than a few days to flood it with the their scams.

Don't waste your money on AM if you are looking for something free. My experience on that site and others is that everyone wants some kind of money. I did meet a great gal on AM and we met every other week for months; the flat rate was $600, even if we had an overnight. So it was certainly less expensive than seeing a professional but there's no such thing as free sex.

You can get free sex. It has happened to me in the past.

I agree that the rates here can be kind of crazy. The more I've thought about the rates here, the more I feel that it has to be due to discretion over it being reasonable for some providers to charge such a high rate. There are tons of powerful people here who play with providers and the providers know it. If you were to go on a date with a provider that charges $600/hour here, they would likely charge around half of that somewhere else in the country where guys are less afraid of a scandal and losing a powerful position. Just my 2 cents.
