Anyone else find the big delay in posting times and general slow down a hair unnerving?  Not sure I can trust this board (or any) much longer...

Response time on the boards is pretty much spot on... I think the mods are doing a great job  and my only gripe has been with the review process!

Personaly... I have not seen any issues with delay's...

Delay yes little more than usual but eh....it tooks many, many hours before my ad actually came up (posted it a little before midnight and went to sleep about 3am and it still wasn't up yet.  I dunno I leave it to they gotta sleep too lol. *shrugs*  

While no longer your official moderator, I retain my abilities to aid this and several other boards in getting posts approved and keeping the flow of the board in a positive direction. All of the hard work and laboring tasks of maintaining the DC board fall squarely on the shoulders of Fugly.

With that said, we now have a total of three people looking at this board and approving ads and postings. While Fugly may hate that I am posting this, please be aware that this is not our only responsibility. We all maintain professional lives outside of TER, just like you. Should you submit a posting or an ad in the latter part of the evening, we probably will not get to it until the morning. During the day, we are on and off the site approving ads and postings. We strive to make this, and all of the other regional boards, the best in class.

I find it moronically humorous that at this point in time anyone can say that the responsiveness is slow. In comparison to 8 months ago, we have tripled the people looking over this particular board. And as far as trust goes, what is there not to trust? The ads? The reviews? All of those are written/created by you the members. Of course you should use due diligence and carefully consider the contents of any message but to make a blanket statement that you can not trust this site seems ridiculous to me. TER is by far the premier experience for guys to utilize. Count your blessings and not the stones you have in your hand and ready to throw.

If you post late in the evening, as your post was, I will pretty much assure you your post will sit in the quere until the early morning hours. Contrary to popular belief Mods do sleep or at least this one does. As for the daytime hours I'm on and off the boards most all day. We are required to commit 3 hours a day to the job when we signed on. I far exceed that every day without even getting a pay raise. That doesn't count the time that Funtimes61 and one other mod spends here helping.
Waiting for your post to be approved is the price you pay for being moderated unfortunately. If it had been me and I was frustrated with the wait times for approval I would have requested to be un-moderated. But hey there are some people who will piss in their rice crispies when the milk is on the counter.

A lot is going on in D.C.
If you are looking for slow boards, try Sports or TEH.
Sometimes two or three weeks, before the page cycles.

You post a topic today and chances are it will be relegated (and forgotten) to page 2 by tomorrow or the next day.

I'm sure this is an IT thing that I know nothing about,  but it seems there should be way to keep posts on page 1 longer?????

As far as waiting for posts to be approved and displayed, I'm afraid that's just a necessary evil. If not, you would end up with a non stop pissing contest between combatants like some other places.  

reply posts to the boards seem very acceptable.  the acceptance and review adjudication is another matter.

This is one of the more active boards for sure. Whats interesting though is that I approve a lot of post daily for pages 2 and 3. So folks are looking beyond the first page.
