Just a Thought

I've been a member of TER for almost 10 years now and am very thankful for all the help I've received from fellow members.  Help given in many ways, through reviews, mini's, posts, and by answering questions I've posted.

Something I've noticed though is that many times when someone posts a question, we (yes we, myself included) tend to be very judgemental and often answer with smart curt remarks.

I'm a manager and one thing I've learned is that no question is Stupid.

Just want to say, remember, most likely the person isn't sitting there saying let me ask these idiots a stupid question.  They are in there own minds asking a legitimate question.  Try and be helpfully and friendly or say nothing at all.

Afterall, most of us are on the same team, we need to stick together and help each other.

Happy New Year.....................

I doubt anyone was trying to be seriously cruel to the posters but rather gently giving the guys a nudge so that they wake up to reality. If your friend asked a dumb question, do you sit there being all nice, giving him a warm rub down... or do you say "No, dumb ass, that's not how it is buddy" yet ultimately still willing to help out so that he doesn't make a fool out of himself in the future. See the difference?

If a provider uses fake photos that look like a super model yet she charges below market rates and a guy posts asking about it, well some of us seem to have a need to laugh at it and maybe make a smart cut remark but I personally don't intend for it to be anything more than a gentle nudge to help the OP wake up.... by informing him of reality instead of the flowered up version of it.

Asking why a provider needs to be compensated thousands of dollars for her time when the hobbyist is already paying for an all-inclusive vacation with her. That is stupid, and IMHO deserves a moderately smart ass remark. lol

Asking about a provider's personal info: calls for a smart ass remark too.

Asking why all girls don't swallow his cum and suggesting in public that they all engage in swallowing. Another dumb ass question that deserves a gentle slap in the face.

Posting on the board about teaching a flaky girl a lesson after paying her 200, leaving her at McDonald. LOL

Posting about taking revenge on a provider by stealing a provider's phone after pushing her to the ground, assaulting her, because she didn't deliver a good service as advertised:  also deserves to get his alias flipped (and he did)

Asking why a girl needs to charge more for greek: Maybe it was a legit question if it wasn't asked hundreds of times already over the years.

Telling a new guy to use the search function before asking something that was already discussed: also not completely uncalled for.

Also, this is an adult site... While I agree that being nicer sounds good on paper, being helpful & nicer to those asking such questions also can be a form of spoon- feeding those who don't bother to do the work on their own. Also, being nicer to folks who post over-the-top senseless stuff only adds fuel to their nonsense.

In this case, the folks who make smart ass remarks help them more by informing them that such a question falls under the dumb ass category. Besides, if an adult can't stand the heat he better stay out of the kitchen. ;)

However, I do agree that some of us may be better off being a bit more friendly.

That's the biggest flaw of this forum. Les enfants are allowed free reign.

Here's the rub though - it isn't going to change. The idiot factor isn't going anywhere. It helps to remember where you are. Expecting emotionally mature behavior from people on this site is an exercise in futility.

judge not lest you be judged. whatever happened to "common decency," "courtesy," "good up-bringing," "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all?"

Didn't your mom, dad, priest, pastor tell you these things growing up?

but ultimately futile. Witness the reply two threads above.

They did.

They also told me not to consort with prostitutes.

Well, not my dad.  He sort of recommended it.
