Interesting Predicament

Well you must have given them a fair amount of info if these blackmailers have it.  I suppose they could try to contact family or employers but then again they might just be trying to see how you react.

I know a few who got such emails but they had not given out cc number or real name or any email they use in the civvie world.   In those cases there was no further contact.

I guess you could go to the police but I don't recommend it. If it was me I would wait to see if there is another move. I would definitely change my cc number big you have not already.

I signed up for Ashley Madison years ago, saw it was a waste of time and never did anything with it. And that was that.

Got an e-mail today with my real name and address and one of those "we're going to out you" threats. Well, first, there is nothing to "out" since I never actually used it and second I understand most of these are scams anyway. Has anybody else received one of these? What did you do. I plan to just ignore it.

They will stop in a hurry. You will be surprised how fast it stops.

I have a few clients who have been greatly scammed by that site. One thought he was talking to a woman overseas and he sent sooooo much money. Long story but he had only signed up for a free trial last summer. That site is bad news and scammers are all over it.

and users' account info was dumped on the internet.  The sender probably does actually have your info, but your info is out there anyway so it'd be pointless to pay.   Whoever sent the email most likely just found in that same place that anyone else could.

Lots of people got threatening messages shortly after the hacking.  Ignore it.  They have no intention of outing you.  They are looking for easy money from guys they can scare.
