Regular friends, those that you learn what the like, you establish trust... etc.

I also suggest using Switter! It's just like Twitter but it's strictly for our community, clients & providers alike. Although I know several of us visit multiple times a year and have great friends in the DC/NOVA area, there is nothing like finding a regular friend in town and building that rapport. I hope you have better luck finding new providers based in DC!

You can get a better feel for providers. Search hashtags, especially on Switter. Twitter can be kind of fickle and shadowban providers when they use hashtags relating to SW. BTW, Switter even has a separate listings page, where you can search by area. This area is plentiful of wonderful providers!

When I search for a specific location, especially a popular one like DC, I get a ton of hits for providers who have put that hashtag into their profiles. The problem is that many ladies have either visited DC in the past, or intend to visit in the future, but are nowhere near DC at the time of my search. Some providers are pretty good about putting their current location and/or their tour schedule directly into their Switter posts, but that's not universally the case. Some just have a general description of themselves and their services while others direct you to their website for location/schedule info.
So, if I get 10 hits for providers using a "DC" search keyword, maybe 4 are actually in the area while the rest are either planning on a future visit or simply have thar hashtag in their profile. And DC is pretty spread out geographically so some of the positive hits will often be in a less-than-convenient location.
And don't get me started re doing more specific searches. Searching for "Dulles" gives me hits for "Dallas," "dull," etc. About the only search term that works decently is "Tysons." And even with that it's a crapshoot as to which providers are actually in the area and available.
So, while I can appreciate some of the benefits it offers for advertisers, please be aware that there are some time-wasting issues that need to be worked out. I'm sure others may experience the site differently but just wanted to give my .02 worth.
